  • I am proud to say I am both a Christian and a proud supporter of the LGBT rights movement. God wants us to love others, and loves all of his children equally.

I am in this play at my school, and were performing in march. One performance will be a mandatory one for students. I am honoured, absolutely honored, to be able to be a part of something bigger than myself.

R.I.P Matthew Shepard. God has a special place in his heart for you and so do I.

  • @KillerHawkMr did you Ben know homosexuality was extremely common in the Grecian-Roman times? Why would it be a sun to love someone? And how do you know this boy hated God? You never knew Matt Shepard.

  • Just a thought: a good Christian would accept everyone regardless of their sexual preference. And if homosexuality is evil, why did god create it.

  • so sad that in america someone has to die before people can realize what life is all about.

  • I bet the bible was written by a homphobe.

wait... was martin luther a homophobe? he translated it, didn't he?

uh... very random, i know. but the root of homophobia is religion.

  • my friend is in this play at a state level performance. they haven't even gotten through casting parts and they've already gotten threats from the west buro baptist church. it's just sad

  • i lived in Laramie Wyoming when this happened. it was so sad. and so scary. :(

  • What pisses me off the most is that some of you conservative people who are disgusted with queers don't even have the good Christian sense to think that being judgemental doesn't work, and that maybe queers don't have a choice because they were coerced into it?

  • cant wait to start reharsing this for our play :)

  • My uncle chose to do this play for my highschool a year ago. I never seen so many people react so emotionally to a play. The westboro baptist church came to riot, which ended up bringing the community together. People I never expected held signs up on the other side of the road to say being gay is okay.

  • @GhostLate ur a pathetic Christian cuz honestly if u believe man should kill due to sexual preference then ur just as unholy . U may have a religion but what good is that religion if u lack faith go educate urself more before trying to quote the bible clearly it is YOU who lacks the context

  • in the footsteps of the lord.

  • Any one who believes homosexuality is a sin is a total hypocrite who in gods name can say what is right and wrong who has the right to Judge but the good lord himself your

Post make u look completely ignorant . Should the lord judge us for loving or you for hating. He made us all a certain way of individuality and if he is going to use the gay community to teach us all a lesson then so be it but anyone who judges a homosexual person is the biggest hypocrite cuz for fact they are not walking in

  • Murder,and stealing are sins, also !

  • @KillerHawkMr I totally agree with you. Homosexuality is sin, it says in the bible. but he didnt deserve to die

  • @KillerHawkMr I totally agree with you. Homosexuality is sin, it says in the bible.

  • For reasons why i love and disapprove of the faith of people is due to the versatility and subjectiveness of the bible and other religious sacraments. People interpret them in so many amoral ways that it eventually overrides their own true nature.

  • he was nothing but a filthy sodomite who trolled the bars lookng for fag sex..he ran into two demon possessed cowboys who killed him for money..it had nothing to do with him being a queer.,america is doomed..repent of your sodomite enabling ways and your sins..quit glorifying gay sodomite love.,God will not be mocked,God who is Jesus Christ is now attacking america with all kinds of weather related issues and other things..america is now the new sodom and gomorrah.america land of the sodomite

  • This is just my opinion and i'm not expecting people to agree with me, so.. anyways, I believe as a Christian I am supposed to love people regardless of their sexual orientation. We're not supposed to hate them because of it you know? Some Christians ruin it for the rest of us because they over exaggerate on everything in the Bible and it's like "no... that's not what is meant." But as a Christian I stand by loving people regardless of what they believe in because I feel it's right.

  • It's opening night for this play at my college. I've been so blessed to be a part of this, and I hope we do a good job of portraying these people and their stories. Matthew, wherever you are, this is for you.

  • BEING GAY IS NOT A LIFESTYLE! A lifestyle is something you choose. You DONT choose to be gay!!! Damn, i get so geeked when i hear the word lifestyle. I check mother fuckers quick wit that shit.

  • @GevoJoe I wish that someone like Fred Phelps could have been born gay. I just WISH he had the capacity to understand that.

  • @GevoJoe EXACTLY! When people say it's a lifestyle choice, I always throw it back at them saying "Okay, so when did you decide to not be gay?"

  • @GevoJoe filthy lifestyle more like.

  • If the trailer alone made me cry I can't imagine the state I'll be in when I finally see this movie.

  • I gotta study this gay ass movie (no pun intended) for the stupid fucking HSC. FML man!

  • complete bullshit

  • im doing this production :) so beautiful

  • Is half the cast of lost in this film..?

  • we saw the play version. absolutely moving.

  • hey guys does anybody know a website to watch this film for free without downloading anything or register or whatever....???? i can't find it anywhere...please tell me.....thx !

  • and "homosexuality is a normal and positive variation in human sexual orientation,[3] though many religious societies, including Catholicism,[4] Mormonism,[5] and Islam,[6] and some psychological associations, such as NARTH, have traditionally taught that homosexual activity is sinful or dysfunctional." -Wikipedia.

  • homosexuality is a variation in the genes n DNA n all those shits. if the bible says homosexuality is a sin, then the person who wrote that book shud've paid more attention in his bio class.

  • @kartermmm don't bring up nature vs nurture saying that homosexuality is a positive variation when homosexuality narrows down the gene pool

  • When i heard about matthew sheperd I said what what is wrong with people when you call A black person the N word or call a mexican kid the s word witch it's hurtful to say them then why is being a gay or a faggot witch is what people call me its the same thing. RELIGION IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE PEOPLE WHO USE IT!!!!!!!!

  • When i heard about matthew sheperd I said what what is wrong with people when you call A black person the N word or call a mexican kid the s word witch it's hurtful to say them then why is being a gay or a faggot witch is what people call me its the same thing.

  • He said "I have not come to call righteous people, but sinners, to repentance" (Luke 5:32). We're all in the same boat, we have all sinned. Christians who judge gays harshly and condemn them are forgetting that Christ died for their sins as well. No one should be proud and boastful/holier-than-thou, we are all equally sinful in God's eyes.

What happened to Matt Shepard was horrible, and no one deserves what happened to him. His sexual preference doesn't matter, he was a human being, period!

  • Is this a Coen brothers movie. They do great comedy.

  • I was fortunate enough to be a part of a production of The Laramie Project. Truly life changing. It's an unbelievable play. RIP Matthew Shepard <3

  • Would God hate gay people for loving or homophobes for hating?

  • Oh god Im crying so bad

  • My school did a run of this. I'm pretty sure I will never use the word faggot ever again.

  • dont owe your drug dealer thousands of dollars and u wont end up tied to a fence. the media went apeshit on this story. it wasnt about gay or straight. it was about money

  • @GntShedZ I think the play was made for a bigger reason that just money. the media that descended right after it happened was in it for money.. but if you actually read the play from all real people in the town.. I think you'd find that it is about much more than gay or straight annd even owing your drug dealer money for that matter.. there are many different opinions about the kid himself and in general what the event says about society as a huge whole.

  • @GntShedZ I am currently preforming in this play, and due to the amount of extensive research in the town and the hesitation and the honesty from every party involved just tells you how much the artist (writer) wanted to send a message. And a small theatre group is full of people who have passion for art.. or else they wouldn't be actors/writers in the first place. open your mind a little? =) watch it. or better yet, read the play.

  • @purplehitgirl HIllcrest, Right?

  • RIP Mathew

  • can anyone tell me what the music for this is?

  • I'm 15 and british and i've just perfromed laramie for a GCSE play and it went fantastically well! i played jonas slonaker, moises kaufman and (best of all) jonas slonaker. It was the second time it was ever performed in the UK!!! and it was the most mezmorizing moment of my life and i will never forget it. We changed our area for the better and we raised so much awareness. Everyone was crying at the end and it was just beautiful. Thanks to everyone in laramie town for their inspiring words

  • this is the first vidoe i've seen that's actually prepared me for what my school is doing later this spring. What an incredible show to be apart of. I can't wait

  • Everyone is so damn stupid it was a fuckin meth deal that just went bad this movie is based on a true story but i can guarantee that there are parts that are majorly influenced my media. Yes the kids might have said "fuck him because he is gay" but thats only because they didnt want to get in trouble for the meth on top of things....

  • 3rd year performance studies students at my university just performed this tonight, i thought i was brilliant and made me think

  • my answer to all of the hateful comments and hateful people who believe god condemns homosexuals think about this. if your god created everything that is (this is including gays) end he condemns a people that he created just to go to hell. then screw that god i will gladdly go to hell for such an evil and cruel so called perfect god. now that i have finished my tirade i would like to say that i believe in god and he is a loving god that does not hate anyperson or group of people.

  • This is sad, just sad. I can't believe there people here that ignorant that they think you can "help" a gay person. The whole quoting the bible thing is a fallacy because Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. People are born gay. It occurs in nature.

  • @Blakarmor725 thats why i loved prayers for bobby. It brings up the point of how the bible can(and is/was) be interpreted with bias. I mean--c'mon.

  • Everyone quotes the 'bible'. Well, GOOGLE the King James Edition, GOOGLE King James. LEARN something about both, research! Find a REAL bible, read it and THEN make a comment.

  • Sorry about that my iPod is screwy, I'm by and to all you bitches who hate gay people because of your ignorance, we are born gay, it happens and religeon destroyed my life it made me feel worthless, and if you think that's okay well... You can just go fuck a duck

  • Hi my name is corey,

  • we watched this movie in drama today. so moving, entire class was crying.

so moving, Math Shepard will always be in me heart <3

  • because of my religion, i believe that being homosexual is wrong in the eyes of god. God created man and women, and i think thats the way we should live. However, i dont dislike gay people or judge their prefference, afterall we all are humans and no body is perfect and being "normal" does not make us superior to them. the only person who is capable to judge is God because he is perfect.

  • @lathanxdarkangel your right, i dont deserve to be a parent. I wont be one. Abortion is still legal in America.

  • gay is not a sin there is nothing wrong with gay people. like the quote above if people rape sexually assault download porn or look at kids at schools why arent they condemmed. God gives us a heart and a body do what you wish unless it is wrong like rape pedophile sexually assult. if being gay is wrong why aren't i dead yet or ellen or kd lang or adam or lance or clay or neil or adam or any gay person. if you don't like gay people leave us alone we don't bother you all fucking day. SHIIT

  • @BackAtOne1300 You said "shit" !!LMFAO!!!

  • Even though I am a Catholic and am strong in my faith, the views of gay marriage by the Church truly disgust me. If we were all created in God's image and likeness, then why can't those people have the same rights as heterosexual people? We were all created equally and therefore should have the right to marry the person we love, whether they're of the opposite sex or not. RIP Matthew Shepard. I never knew you but I am sure that you were an amazing person. I know you're with God now.

  • @keyki421

Excuse me? He got what he deserved? Nobody deserves to be beaten up so badly that it causes death for being attracted to someone of the same sex.

    You are one sick f*ck.

  • @keyki421 you must be one of the worst people ever. i have shown this film to everyone i know and even the most old fashioned are against what happened to that poor boy. and why exactly did he deserve it? what did he do that was so freakin wrong? homosexuality is neither a "sin" nor anything wrong. he never hurt or provoked anyone. at least he was open about his sexuality and didnt pretend he was sth he wasnt. shame on you. i wonder what you'd do if it was ur son.but he hes deserve it huh?

  • @keyki421 ur so going to "hell". end of discussion cause i dont like talking to "people" like u.ur worse than shit

  • this past weekend i went to CETA, a theater compettition for socal high schools. culver city high performed this play and it broke my heart. at the end they added in a monologue that reflected the recent suicides of gay teens. it broke my heart ): gay isnt a crime, hate is. its not wrong & i cant belive the ignorance the world is still clearly living in. if u meet somebody gay, i want u to sit down and talk to them and then decide how different you are from them(:

  • Anyway, if it was over homosexuality, this isn't how it should have been dealt with. For god's sake just send him to bicurious camp.

  • Im in Laramie. I haven't seen an open gay in a while. Anyway, from secondhand knowledge, I can say it was over a drug dealer, not liking men.

  • Sin this sin that, god this god that, killing is immoral and wrong, fuck the murderers.

What is there left to discuss?

  • im in laramie right now at wyotech,

  • A sin is when you hurt people, when you hurt a child of god, that is a sin.

People of good will are not the sinners. Hate is Evil.

  • I never knew that anyone could be capable of this...this unexplainable evil. How could someone's mind be so different that they believe in their "religious values" and then do things so horrible? I just get how someone could look into the eyes of another human being and take the life out of them, it makes me feel so ashamed, but also so proud of those of us who choose not to give up or let these things go. I hope to God that I never do understand.

  • I believe in God, but I don't thing gayness is a sin. God wouldn't wish to condemn gay people.

  • @Arnmazing23 Read the Bible, dumbass.

  • @Arnmazing23 God hates the sin, but loves the sinner, there is a major difference.

  • @Arnmazing23

    Leviticus 20:13

“‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

All good Christians are supposed to hate homosexuals and kill them.

  • @GhostLate You're disgusting, Leviticus is bullshit and any sensible person knows that

  • @greasysox

Agreed, but sadly, Christians aren't sensible people.

  • @GhostLate oh w8 which side are u siding with

I wouldn't say all good christians are not sensible

some are my family is christian and my mother is completely accepting and loving of the LGBT community

  • @greasysox

Then your mum is ignorant of her holy text's teachings, she is disobeying her God's edicts.

  • @GhostLate She doesn't believe in certain parts of the bible, like leviticus, because it condemns her son and brother

she believes in a truly merciful and loving God not the one described in the bible but she looks to the bible for a reference for moral teachings in certain parts

    Which side are you on?

Because it is hard to follow someone when they don't seem to pose any sort of arguement one moment and then make one the next...

  • @greasysox

So what you're saying is that she's not a Christian.

  • @GhostLate answer the question please

    She identifies as christian

faith is what you make of it not what others decide what it is

  • @greasysox

I could identify myself as a Muslim even though I disregard all Qu'ranic teachings. Does that make me a Muslim? Hardly.

  • @GhostLate -_-" ur a stupid bitch of a troll i would carry on this "conversation" but you don't seem to want to answer my questions so goodbye

    Troll

  • @GhostLate Agree! Often faith is used as an excuse for ignorance.

  • So you think you know better cause you read a book?

  • @GhostLate So you think you know better cause you read a book? And is murder justified by killing a gay person, are sins justified by the means of a person's ignorance?

  • @Arnmazing23

You're missing the point. I'm pointing out that the Bible commands Christians to murder homosexuals. Either

    1) Christians are unfamiliar with their holy text

    2) Christians ignore verses like the one I mentioned, and choose not to derive their morals from a supposedly perfect book.

  • @GhostLate The bible never commands Christians to murder homosexuals.

  • @spacedementia87

    Leviticus 20:13

“‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

  • @GhostLate ahh leviticus 20. first I would like you to go away and read the rest of that passage. People always quote the last bit completely out of context. Also find a bible that doesn't have a homophobic translator. The literal translation from the hebrew is closer to Two men shall not lie in the lyings of a man and a woman. It's pretty difficult to translate. But I take that to mean that a marital bed is sacred.

  • @GhostLate and besides do you follow every other rule in there.

The bible also says it's fine to beat slaves.

This is what happens when people take books too literally. There is just as much proof that lord if the rings was real.

  • @GhostLate touché! The bible also commands that people take slaves. Such a detestable book. All copies should have been burned years ago

  • @Arnmazing23 A man shouldnt, lay down beside a man how beside a woman. 3.Mose But I although think gays are HOT!

  • my theatre class is doing this play at our school. i am humbled every time that we read through the script because i realize how much people can hate in our society. it almost makes me ashamed to be a human being, but i also realize that something like this needs to be publicized and recognized. I cant wait to put this play on and i am so very proud to be apart of it.

  • im literally in tears

  • If you're interested in the Matthew Shepard murder, and even current effects today, Judy Shepard has an amazing biography about her son. The Meaning of Matthew. I just finished it today. It was very relateable because I just came out to my mom. She's going to read it when I bring it home for the holidays.

  • GOOGLE...SHIRLEY PHELPS ILLEGITIMATE SON....HEAR IT FROM THE WHORES MOUTH HERSELF

  • and as for this video I want to download the documentary and watch it. I thank you for the support hon

  • @RobotShoppingCenter Maybe I can find a computer chip that you are messing so that you can gain better respect for people. I wonder how much it costs. Do you know any directions how to get to the "RobotShoppingCenter"

  • Dude, Janeane Garafolo, Christina Ricci and Michael Emerson are in this movie! Epic!

(Also, inevitable Youtube comment debators, calm down.)

  • I'm doing the play in my acting class, and so far I love it. It's a real hard read though, and trying to get into the mindset of people who approve of this is so.. almost like painful? But if it helps effect those who come and see us perform it, its worth it. It's people liek us who do plays like these, or watch movies like this, that help honor Matthew's death. We overpower those who are like Fred Phelps. And that's the best reward.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh man this was such a great docu-drama. It was done really well and more than fair I think. It captured the thoughts of every position of the way people think on the subject. I cried when I didn't think I would?...God Bless Matt who showed the world (through his death) where we really are as a people...It's not good. I hope this has changed people in some way

  • Goosebumps and tears each time I watch it.

  • I really wanna know who those 16 people who disliked this video... heartless assholes.

  • Chills...

  • My university is putting this on right now...I am seeing it on Sunday

  • If homosexuality and its lifestyle is a sin, then what about the straight people who abuse their spouses, download porn, have affairs, sexually assault other people including children. Why is it that Homosexuality is worse than those type of hateful crimes based on sexuality? If ALL Homosexuals are going to hell, then where are people who commit the things I mentioned earlier going to?

  • @rockndude87 HELL as well. No degrees of sin, God sees it all the same.

I personally am starting to believe that you can be gay and have a relationship with God. Be monogamous with your same sex partner and love Jesus too. I believe that really only 1% of the world is "truly gay" anyway (not talking about bi-sexuals) talking about "gay from the day you were born gay" (that covers about only 1% of people) I believe God has mercy on people like that, how could He not; it's not their fault?...

  • @atlasshrugged2u I agree that if homosexuality is a sin what about cheating on your spouse, stealing from work, and all that shit...isn't that not also seen as wrong in God's eyes? I am very religious but I also believe Evolution is credible, even when others say I shouldn't see it as such. But yeah....It's just...absurd that there is so much crap given toward homosexuals for their lifestyle but what about the people with worse lifestyles? Plus Jesus said to not condemn people either way.

  • @rockndude87 Exactly!

If the people you describe can be forgiven then a homosexual can be too! It's rediculous to think otherwise, I think it's total common sense.

  • @rockndude87 All sins are the same. All of them are the same in Gods eyes. The culture just seem to condem gay people though.

  • @brad71forfsu I actually disagree that there are sins that are greater than others. For example, someone who cursed committed lesser of a sin than someone who murders somebody. But they are still wrong nonetheless in God's eyes...But I agree that God sees them as evil in His eyes...my point was just that how does homosexuality stand in admist of other sins?

  • @rockndude87 No sin is worse than any other. Sin is sin. Only in human's eyes does it get a rating scale. To God, it's all the same. We are all from the same maker and should just acknowledge our own existence in others. We are all human. We all bleed, we all cry, we all hurt, and love. We are people. Judgment is not our job. Loving is.

  • @rockndude87 This subject will be endlessly disputed. My mom was watching some crap where the pastor and some guest were saying homosexuality is-same old, same old- a sin. He started spouting utter bull about if same sex marriage was allowed as well as any homosexual relationship, it would make way for things that were millions of degrees digusting and horrible. I wanted to puke and told her it was crap. she kicked me out of the room. >:-(

  • @rockndude87 lmao how the fuck is downloading porn in that category

  • @rockndude87 Sin is sin in God's eyes, and we're all worthy of damnation/retribution (Romans 3:22-23 "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"). No one is worthy of salvation, it was only through Jesus's sacrifice on the cross for all of mankind's sins that we were given a second chance to someday be with God.

As human beings, we assess "values" to certain sins. For instance, saying a small white lie or stealing something insignificant is a "small" sin to us, while murder,

  • @rockndude87 homosexuality, prostitution, etc, are consider "big sins". To God, sin is sin, no matter what form. All the sins you mentioned, people will have to answer to God for those someday as well.

The problem is you have some Christians that are holier-than-thou, who take the Bible and use it to discriminate and judge other people. Jesus never judged other people, he ate with tax collectors, prostitutes, and the outcasts of society.

  • ahhh it's so weird to see this kind of thing when you go to school in Laramie.

  • This movie made me cry way more than once, but it was definitely worth it :( Such a sad story. R.I.P. Matt

  • It is ignorance that breeds hatred and prejudice. Criminalize HATE and homophobia!

  • Shit. I'm straight and I cried watching this trailer. I want to direct this play at my home school.

  • I wanna see ths movie!

  • I got goosebumps while watching this.

  • @Premonition221 OMG I did too!

  • im from laramie . We are not gay haters i only dislike the media for misleading everyone into thinking this was something that it wasn't. Drugs were involved as well as a robbery, those were the main motive for the murder. tradgic as it is, this happens daily in many cities.

  • @snickerstorino i get you, but remember that a homosexual dies everybody says it was a hate crime... the same thing happened here in my town and everyone was in shock, even though we all new it had something to do with drugs

  • @vikikins23 HEY SHIT FOR BRAINS....IT'S MURDER, DEFLECT IT WITH DRUGS, WHINE ALL YOU WANT.....SO IN YOUR PERVERTED MIND HE WAS MURDERED OUT OF LOVE?......FOR THOSE OF US THAT LIVE IN THE REAL WORLD, WE UNDERSTAND HATE WHEN WE SEE IT.....DAMN JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I'D HEARD EVERY IGNORANT COMMENT.....SOMEONE TOOK A SHIT, AND YOU WERE BORN.

  • @keiferd11 first of all, i don't even remember what i said about this that made u go all crazy and treat me that way. second, abuse is abuse regardless of the motive, that's wrong. why should we lable and separate things when we are looking for UNITY? third, u say u undrstand hate when u see it, that's funny to hear from such a hateful & disrespectful person. this world is messed up cause of ppl like u, unable to accept ppl's different opinions. U want people 2 respct u? start by doing it urself

  • @vikikins23 You are intitled to your opinion. But when make you stupid comments like and I quote: homosexuals die everyday, and they wanna say it's a hate crime. IGNORANT comment. So how does it feel to be (verbally) attacked? Now, imagine someone taking your life becase THEY do not like your comment, but, instead, some people wanna deflect the true reason for your murder by saying, well....she was dressed to provactive....or ...he looked at me wrong. I don't expect you to understand it.

  • @keiferd11 baby, whatever reason they give to take my life is WRONG!! i'm trying to say that killing a gay person just for being gay is AS WRONG as killing a kid because he/she wouldn't stop crying. I'm not a hater here, i just think human rights should be the same for everyone. once again, i'm defending EQUALITY of gender. Now, i could take a defensive posture and attack u with my insulcts, but that wouldn't make me better than u... would it?!

  • @vikikins23....i am not here to say i am any better than you or anyone. insult's yeah i can throw em' generally i do it with humor...and sometimes i can read something, such as what you said in your post. "very suttle", "gays die everyday and they wanna call it a hate crime"? is what you said. i have NEVER heard ANYONE accused of murder because a gay person died. HENCE: the difference here is die vs. murder....DIE/accident/natural......MURDER/hate

  • @keiferd11 well, that's exactly what i tried to say: murder (in general) =

hate. I sincerily apologize for anything i said that could've offended u or any gay person who read it. now that we both made clear what we tried to say in the first place, can we please put an end to this discussion? not that i'm not having fun with u... ;)

  • @vikikins23 glad you enjoyed it....i speak on behalf of 2 friends murdered...and one that took his own life...never said i have not heard anyone accused of MURDER....go back and read it...forget it....you can read...you just can't comprehind what your reading.

  • @keiferd11 about the "having fun" thing it's called SARCASM... I was really hoping we could leave it there, but what can u expect from a donkey, a kiss or a kick? Anyways dude, peace and love, have a good one.

I'm truly very sorry for ur loss by the way.

  • @keiferd11 Oh, and u say u've never heard of any 1 acused of murdering a gay person... here in PR a guy was arrested after decapitating and the burning the body of a 19 year old, Jorge Steven Lopez Marcano (google it!). There's also the Brandon Teena case (which i bet u know about) the murderer is in death row, although it's been like 18 years and the case isn't solved yet so... :/

  • @snickerstorino Right. That's why the lawyer used "Gay panic" as an excuse and the kids themselves said that they wanted to teach him a lesson.

  • @VildeChan lmao, you shouldn't believe everything a movie tells you. The things you speak of are words actors are reading from a script to make the audience believe what the directors and writers want them to believe (not actual footage). Trust me i live here and saw them bring in actors to film that were "laramie residents". doesn't matter if you believe me or not, tradgic it may be as in every murder , however the main motive in this murder was not becuase he was gay.

  • however don't get me wrong it does not excuse what happened, all motives aside a man was brutally murdered. Its a very sad event that happened, but remember brutal murders happen daily in larger cities. So ask yourself, why doesn't anyone give those events the same media coverage?simple...we're a small town ,they wanted to make laramie look predjudice so they could gain media attention.Sad as it may be, those that made this movie(i my opinion)are guilty of using someones death to thier advantage.

  • @snickerstorino They wouldn't have put his name as an example in the hate-crime legislation if it WASNT a hate crime. Trying to make your city look good by saying something like this is so fucking stupid. This is NOT about YOU. Or your city. It's not a about trying to make Laramie look bad. This is about a boy getting killed for being gay. It's about gay rights. You are not the fucking victims here. Go cry somewhere else and check your fucking privilge.

  • @VildeChan nope... your totally wrong and twisted every thing ive said around. your a lost cause. If your that thick to not even admit any of what i said to be true then i have no reason to discuss this with you further. About gay rights my @ss , this has nothing to do with gay rights, no one should be murdered regaurdless of who you are. What makes the gays so special? A hate crime, what a laugh.... why would a person murder someone unless they hated them. Then all murders are hate crimes.

  • thought id apologize for calling you thick headed, however everything else i stated i still stand behind 100 percent.

  • @snickerstorino very true

  • its a truly heartbreaking story of what happened to matthew shephard. it's really sad that it took the vicious murder of a gay person to finally add federal protection to GLBT people. Also to say i don't know if i could show mercy onto the men who murdered my child. It must have taken a lot for Matthew's parents to not go for the death penalty

  • why are soo many people so stupid. Killing a person for who they are and what they believe in is wrong. If i said i was lesbian regardless if it was true or not would someone kill me and later say oh she looked gay? People with no logic as to why they would do such a thing or people who back that up makes me mad.

  • R.I.P. Matthew Shepard. I hope you've finally found peace...

  • No one has a right...let alone a valid reason to kill someone because they are different. People need to learn that everything they do has an effect no matter how small it is. Think before you act.

  • when somoene kills a person, doesnt matter his sexuality or etnic, still is a human who got to live all his life no mather his sexual orientation.what they do with this boy doent have forgiveness. thats the problem with society, when they dont know how to deal with something they just hate it and this is what happen with matthew.was the target of a society who doesnt accept people who got a determinated lifestyle.

  • I always cry when I see this movie. I saw it when I was younger and I still understood how sick people could be.

  • The video was good, but I was very pissed. I wouldve shot the 2 offenders on site, and rip out their organs. Nobody deserves this. I don't care who it is. If the person is homo, hetero, bisexual, or asexual.Nobody needed this.

  • Hey! He wad brave to stand out and be himself.. He didn't deserve it. Any of it. No one does... I did this actually play. I read the script over and over. Touching, sad. It should have never happened this way.

  • i believe you have the right to love whomever you want. race or gender shouldnt matter. you cant help who you fall in love with.love is love.

  • i believe being gay is wrong and is a sin! but i do not think gay people should be beat up and/or murdered! no one deserves that! i have gay friends and family, and even tho i dont agree to the gay thing..i still would never pick on them cause no one has the right to take a life or hurt others emotinally or physically.

  • @somebodysangel99

Why do you believe that being gay is wrong? People are born gay, they don't choose to be. How can you be wrong in something if you can't help it?

  • @zsra187 i believe thats just an exscuse

  • @somebodysangel99

I'm not gay, but I have extremely close friends that are, and they didn't choose it. It's not like they woke up one morning and thought 'I'm going to try being gay today', it's the way they were born. Why would you think that them being true to themselves is a sin?

  • @somebodysangel99 What gives you the right to decide that it's wrong or a sin? The bible even says not to do it. My favorite quote: "Judge not, that you be not judged." Matthew 7:1

    Oh yeah. I'm gay.

  • @zrtproductions i agree that the bible says not to judge, but im just saying that the bible also says it's a sin, god made humans for the purpose of multiplying, thats what were made to do.

  • @somebodysangel99 But this is where it get's hypocritical. You say all were here to do is multiply. But dosen't the bible say our job it to worship god? And also, dosen't it say that sex, even if you are aiming to have a child, out of wedlock is wrong?
