  • Glasgow Barrowlands STILL the best place for an SLF gig! (Since they demolished Glasgow Apollo...) Saying that though, I think ANYWHERE SLF played would be feckin amazin'.... • out there for the slaneys

  • I have a downer on slf in 2010, Jake is a tribute of himself etc blah blah.

But this vid is why i love SLF, Passion, attitude, great music, You would have to search long and hard to find a band that come close, But right now there fucking SHIT. Its such a shame. as we only have all the lame indie rock bollox left. Dont dissagree because i am right and your not.

  • @Chaos1977uk Hello man , What do you mean by Jake is a tribute to himself,Its an interesting comment

  • One of the greatest things about SLF apart from their stop killing each other approach is the fact that they sound almost exactly the same live as they do recorded.

Most bands can only dream of that .They are the bollocks.Truly fucking great

    I quite like 'em

  • @MrFlatmint Yeah, this is even more powerful ( and longer ) than studio version. It's just awesome

  • @MrFlatmint the bollocks?

    lol

    but yes

  • @bttllp Tee hee ,it's the shortened form of ''the dogs bollocks'' or in polite conversation the dogs danglies.Good eh?Top shelf , tickety-boo no?

  • @MrFlatmint i mean

    i've heard 'bollocks' used before

    never 'the bollocks'

  • @MrFlatmint bless you :)

  • @MrFlatmint

    Too right mate.

Aside...the first I heard of em was in a record bar in Sydney....me 15 & the chick serving it up...woah!...man I fell in love SLF....we had a 3some

  • Love slf and seen them many times since early 80's

However, message to bass player...leave yer colours in the dressing room ..

Music should UNITE not DIVIDE !

  • @fireandrain1 dont think you get it , silly bawz, do you?

  • @kf51oad ..Perhaps you could expand on what it is I don't get ?

Lovin the insult from the safety of the keyboard...brave boy ! xx

  • WHAT NOB HEAD just compared stiff 2 the fuckin gloomtown prats? fuck that AND u!

listen 2 'each dollar a bullet' then cum back and apologize whole heartedly and u may redeem urself.. eeyurrk!!

  • They were (are) an irish Band, right ?

    even the BOOMTOWN RATS -

listen to their lyrics, man - so great!

  • If you think about it.......was there ever a better band from Northern Ireland? Don't think so......well done SLF. You're the best band to ever come out of Norn Iron...

I think that underestimates them though....I'd say they were a top 10 British/Irish punk band. Ever.

  • Stiff Little Fingers! Great band!

  • Brilliant song, the lead singer has a pair of tits though!!

  • i just found this band ...i have to say i love it ...awesome all the way around

  • Hehehe I know Jim Reilly and Ashley Sinnerton personally !

Ashley lives basiclly down the road and Jim Is good friends with my mum xD

  • SLF were big locally but never made much money from it. They also risked their lives by being very critical of paras on both sides and the british troops and government when all these things were regularly punished with beatings and executions. Plus this use of a song from Jamaica meant they not only made the connection between Kingston and Belfast, but between all senseless sectarian violence the world over. Which is not to say they were depoliticised, but they were politically independent.

  • Saw them play this in the King's Hall, Belfast in December 1990. It's amazing here, but to be there in front of the stage is amazing. It felt like Dolphin Taylor was using my spine as a xylophone. Incredible group.

  • this always makes me think of Scotty Vollmer he was my friend he defended a black man's right to be at a party with a white girl as his date and this skinhead who wasn't even invited went up to the guy and started trouble,

so Scotty tried to get peace but the fucking nazi skinhead pulled out a kinfe

Scotty tried to kick it away

    he killed him

he stabbed him in the heart

    SCOTTY VOLLMER LIVES FOREVER

    and a hero

that kind of this should never have HAPPENED. IT CAN'T ANYMORE!

  • Nice band :] Brain Faloon - Drummer- Came to my school not so long ago, the exact same school he attended :D I must say i never knew the band was this big :D Really awesome Punk band

  • @keriboyjs you came to new zealand? We deal with our own shit here. There tends to be this mythical image of NZ that's its' some utopia at the ends of the earth

  • Not quite. SLF wrote songs condeming all the violent parties - regardless of their supposed alligiences. They just wanted all the men of violence out of Ireland and for peace to be restored. They were sick of the death and misery on their own doorsteps and rebelled against it.

  • I just foud my old slf records!

  • do you want to sell them /
