SLF were always an outstand live gig to go to. Can only be described as brilliant. Coming onto a Glasgow stage wearing a Celtic and a Rangers top was epic. I've been to many SLF GIGS and they were all epic.IMHO

SLF were big locally but never made much money from it. They also risked their lives by being very critical of paras on both sides and the british troops and government when all these things were regularly punished with beatings and executions. Plus this use of a song from Jamaica meant they not only made the connection between Kingston and Belfast, but between all senseless sectarian violence the world over. Which is not to say they were depoliticised, but they were politically independent.
