Which countries did you grow up in? Part of the reason I wrote this book was the lack of fiction set in that part of the world. I imagine I'll also be writing a novel set in Beirut at some point in the future, since I graduated from high school there. Anyway, let me know how you like it.
Like you, I went to the American Community School in Beirut (graduated in 1965). I grew up as an Aramco Brat in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia from age 6 to 18. With my family, we traveled to much of the Middle East.
I suspected you might be a fellow alum. It sounds like you were a boarding student. We day students really envied the boarding students in many ways...there was a whole "other" side to ACS life we knew we were missing out on.
Yes, I lived in the B.D. for two years. I liked it, but we boarding students were envious of you day students who had the freedom to see parts of the city that were off-limits to us. I guess the grass really is greener on the other side.

I love a novel teaches as it entertains. I'm already intrigued by this glimpse into a culture few of us know enough about. Can't wait to read it!

This novel looks inviting. I grew up in the Middle East and love a book that can take me back there.
