Little Audrey could sure escape quickly from -- er -- bondage. But how did Grandma's pinning Burglar to the floor for three seconds assist the law enforcement process?
Well, for that matter, most burglars want to get into the home, get their haul, and get out as soon as possible.
It just doesn't seem plausible that this particular burglar -- having already filled his bag with whatever it was that he found in Grandma's house -- would gratuitously seek to add several counts of child abuse to the charges that might be filed against him.
@boru25 Shit, I was just thinking the same thing! I wanted to see a wolf not a stupid burgular. But hey, she doesn't live in the woods so, blechhhh... I guess to the creators it'd make more sense for a burgular to appear rather than a wolf. Still I'm pretty disappointed. They could of at least put a mustache on the burgular, then he would appear somewhat "wolfish."
Actually, 'Noveltooner', when this was initially released, Paramount had stopped using "Little Audrey Says" as her theme music, and began using the "standard" Noveltoon/Modern Madcap theme used in the opening credits from 1955 through 1964, regardless of which character was appearing in them. To make a long story short, the studio was starting to "phase" Audrey out of their production schedule {as previously mentioned, she starred in only two more "Noveltoons" before her last one in 1958}.
It seems like this time, the wolf was a man rather than a wolf. But I gotta say, a man is more fitting for the role of the villain than a wolf. Because when it gets right down to it, we human beings can be the most wicked creatures in existence if we choose to be.
Granny obviously watches TV wrestling; the cliche in those days was that "old ladies" loved to watch wrestlers in the'50s, and cheered them on in living rooms all over America...
Don Rockwell actually wrote the "American" lyrics for Tatsuo Takai's original "Tetsuwan-Atom" theme, 'sygo'. Fred Ladd wanted a theme song with "action" lyrics to match the images seen in the opening title, and decided a "boy chrous" was the best way to emphasize it...if it sounded like one of Winston Sharples' "Famous Studios" confections, that's one on me!
Little Audrey's panties ALWAYS peeked out at one time or another- even in her Harvey comic book stories and the 1951 King Features comic strip drawn by Steve Muffati- because she's supposed to be adorable and CUTE! Osamu Tezuka's "Uran" {"Astro Girl"} in "ASTRO BOY" had a similar trait...
yeah I wanna say the cartoon is called "Doggone" but I know its the last Little Aundrey cartoon they made, I've never seen it but I'm still looking. If you go on bcdb dot com you can read more about it.
The only Little Audrey Cartoons I saw so far are: Goofy Goofy Gander, Tarts and Flowers, Butterscotch and Soda the 1 where she went fishing & the 1 where she has a B.B. gun. Doesn't Little Audrey sound like Olive Oil a little bit?.. I like Little Audrey cartoons better then Little LuLu though The Little LuLu cartoons are good 2.

LOL! That's my girl! God, I miss this cartoon so much! I remember this used to come on Fox in the morning daytime and on Sundays and Saturdays on UPN!
If you think about it, a man is potentially more wicked and cruel than a wolf. Besides, that old story has been remade so many times before. In this case, we learn that the greatest threat to humanity is not wolves but humanity itself.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!! im looking for an old cartoon like these. its about 2 poor kids. its a boy and a girl and they have a dream that they go to this place LOADED with food. at the end of the dream a Baker brings food to their house and the little boy pokes himself in the butt with a fork! i wanna find it! lol
I wish we sould see this with the original Paramount titles and Audrey song as originally made instead of the artifical "Harveytoon" cut and generic Noveltoon title music.
Originally released as a 1955 Paramount theatrical "Noveltoon", directed by Seymour Kneitel. By this time, Audrey was more popular in her Harvey comic books than at the movies! Only two more cartoons followed this one, before she "retired" from the big screen in 1958.
