I guess to the creators it'd make more sense for a burgular to appear rather than a wolf. Still I'm pretty disappointed. Actually, 'Noveltooner', when this was initially released, Paramount had stopped using "Little Audrey Says" as her theme music, and began using the "standard" Noveltoon/Modern Madcap theme used in the opening credits from 1955 through 1964, regardless of which character was appearing in them. To make a long story short, the studio was starting to "phase" Audrey out of their production schedule {as previously mentioned, she starred in only two more "Noveltoons" before her last one in 1958}.

Fred Ladd wanted a theme song with "action" lyrics to match the images seen in the opening title, and decided a "boy chrous" was the best way to emphasize it...if it sounded like one of Winston Sharples' "Famous Studios" confections, that's one on me!
