the guy from telford contact Leo Lipinski hes the best person to tell you where the classes are see the website at karatecentre.co.uk the a link to europe wide one with contact details for Leo Lipinski sorry not allow to give out his number here
I am from Telford and saw how max teaches first hand a few years ago when I was a kid I'm no expert but I do boxing and Mma and have knowledge of it and max would smash me in seconds!!
maybe high kicks are not used so much in the street but low kicks to groin, thighs, shins are very effective and can do a lot of damage when used corret .
how many fights have you seen won by kicks in the street footwork is the key and boxers have it grappling is good for the street but the last place you want to be is on the floor in the street
@whiteasasheet what might seem odd is that your looking at it from a boxers view where his stance is based to fire his punches what you saw is in karate the stance changes it might seem weak but you setting up the kick or grab so the flow of punches usaully follows up with a kick which is stronger than a punch it is hard to take a boxers stance and fire a kick
this practice strays away from the traditional kata, therefore you will not always see shiko dachi because it takes too long to get in and out. there is traditional training and this. a goju fighter will always punch in a boxing style in reality. the kata was a training tool, not and actual fighting style. also traditional karate has to always adapt. the training you see is very good. don't look for flaws in technique. it is funny to see the comments though.
:30 Where is the re-chamber of technique. How can you fire a technique with no power? 1:40 as the chinese intended? i thought okinawa was a place near japan...? 2:37 why is that not in shiko-dachi? 5:16 his fingers are open, your going to break them buddy!
I am a dan-ranked karate-ka from the direct yamaguchi line; believe me when i say the circular theory and bunkai will not work against a resisting adversary. The initial punch exercises were interesting though; that'd work close up :)
circular blocking theory works if the opponent thrusts the punches. It will not work if he snaps but in case of thrust also one can use them if one has the skill and awarness to do that and that is to be achieved through training
good hand speed Max ! good training ! I wouldn't move back on the Ura ken uchi as the punch comes in before moving in and striking ! I would move striate in and kill the punch before it gains momentum and strike Ura ken uchi almost simultaneously !
I am not sure if you said what you meant,Kahone, but doing the same technique, but with more difficulty is a bad thing, not a good thing. As for being more "manly", what the heck does that mean? False bravado?
MrsMcMac you didn't listen carefuly - sensey was tolking about chinese martial arts and these were a wing tsung kind punches from short distance. Karate roots are in chinese kenpo so there is this kind of punches too
The idea of the application is good, but the punches at the beginning aren't Karate punches because of no hip rotation, just using the power of the arms, many punches without striking with full power. I think that the Karate idea is another, that's my opinion. Not striking so much, but effective tsuki max 3 times with full power of 80-100 %.
Advanced karate punches are just like boxing. Basic karate punches are a start. If you are not careful you get bad habits and drop the hands. Great video
I only took about 2 or 3 months of Go Ju Ryu, but I watched other classes and looked here on youtube, and I like this guy's expression of the style much better than what I have seen. Good basics.
a japanese training it's better

How close is this to Uechi Ryu? 2 knuckles rather than 1, and I notice stance seems a bit different,

When you watch the bagwork sequence in this clip it becomes very easy to see how Kyokushinkai derived from Goju-ryu.
