  • I fucking love this. I am just starting to realize this too. I have had and anxiety disorder and depression since I was 9 or 10 and I am almost 19 now. I know I am still young but what I have gone through in life I think has made me understand a lot more of it. I've had a lot of therapy, and have been on a string of different meds for a long time, but in the past few months, for the first time in years I have felt different. I don't know exactly why or how, but it's great. So this was awesome.

  • This is basically my mantra, everything will be okay even if "okay" just means that things will carry on. I really identify with this Samm, I had a really shitty few years and things are still rough, but this sort of thinking is what gets me through. I'll survive. I have to and so does everyone.

  • This is totally something I've come to understand as I've gotten older. I used to freak out about bills every month, and every month they still got paid. I drove my boyfriend nuts. Finally I just had to tell myself what you said in this video, "I will get through this."

  • This video is so true. Thinking the world is going to end is my bread and butter, but it never does.

  • i should really show my friend this it will help her alot thatnks sam =3

  • Sam, you are absolutely brilliant. That is all.

  • I really like what you said in this video. In the past I often got stressed out over things and freakout and i think i've had several panic attacks in the past. I'll think that the world is ending because of something. but like you said, it passes and i'm still alive. I think that thanks to you saying that, i've finally acknowledged that its true, i'll be alive and things will move on afterward. Now i'm much calmer about things, but its still nice to hear what you said.

    thank you :)

  • @mvute It did make me.

  • I was kind of panicky for most of today, which is part of why I was awake & surfing YouTube. This calmed me down a lot. Thanks..! Oh, and I hope getting through things gets a lot easier for you, Samm -- you deserve it. c:

  • thanks for this

  • I know what you should do for a job.

    Be a therapist.

    Seriously.

  • Remember, whatever doesn't kill you DIES HORRIBLY.

No, but seriously, I'm sure a lot of people know, to some extent, that everything will get better, it's just really good to hear it from someone else. Thank you for your encouraging words, which have genuinely helped me given how my boss is acting like a gigantic satchel of dicks.

  • I weirdly enough learnt that in elementary school several times over. It's when you had to get that new piece of orthodontia before Christmas, or when you had to finish that ungodly project before summer break. Even if it seemed completely world-ending, I always got through it and I realized that it was impossible not to, that time always has to flow past that stupid due date, and something comes after it every time.

  • I never think your advice is depressing to be honest, more reassuring. Especially when you say stuff like 'You don't know shit when you're young', because, as a 15-year-old who feels stupid a hell of a lot of the time, this is amazingly comforting.

  • ok sam don't get me wrong i'm happy for you and all, but what happened to the sam i used to know? the half empty sam. she was the best :( watching you take a positive outlook on life disturbed me

  • @PerpetualAscent don't worry, I still hate the things I like

  • I'd like to say that I'm proud of you for being able to say this as well as getting through your problems through realisation. However, I'm not really sure if it makes me sound really condescending. Good luck anyway. :D

  • Thank you. Your advice isn't depressing or lame or wrong to me, to me your advice is perfect to me! Thank you.

  • Like they say, - what won't kill you, makes you stronger. I found out it's true.

  • Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! ^_^

  • Your advice, while depressing, is also realistic. I like to think, if I can't get any of my writing shit done, or work sucked, or no-one is around and I'm lonely, there'll always be a tomorrow, so just get through the day you're in any way you can. Life is a matter of temperance.

Also, little rituals help. Cleansing thoughts and songs. My song for when the shittiest day happens is "Grey Day" by Madness. I find myself repeating the line "So begins another weary day" now all too often :p

  • I feel compelled to e-mail you after watching this video. Is that cool?

  • It also took a long time for me to get to the point where you are- even when things are asploding all around you, you can take solace in the fact that things'll get better. I'm glad you're doing okay, even with the harriedness. Wish you the best of luck :)

  • Why do you want to quit your job, like for what reasons? Is it just because your boss is an asshole? Or is it too personal?

  • i dont know how to thank you, i was feeling like shit before this video

  • Sooooooooo needed this. Thanks, I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to make this video.

  • I can't think of anything better so say so I'll just say this. Thank you Samm :)

  • Thanks, Samm. Just what I needed.

    Hang in there!

  • *clap clap*

  • Wow, this video is exactly what I needed right now. Ever since I started college I've had trouble managing my anxiety and stress. I'm getting better, but sometimes it just hits me all at once and it's hard to remember that it WILL be okay. Thanks for reminding me.

  • @pshxhaley I'm glad to hear it helped. just gotta keep moving :)

  • @imagesfromapoet You are very awesome inspirational person. This video is probably of the most inspirational on Youtube. I wish it could be featured so that everyone could see it. Thank you for making this video.

  • @pshxhaley I'm exactly the same way right now. I just started college too, and I've been constantly questioning if I should even be there. This video does help, just to know that eventually we will be out of this hard times and things can get better. :)

  • I can relate when it comes to anxiety. I get so panicky I can't even do what I'm supposed to do.
