If the greats of the past like this came bk today. We'd not only be struck by their color/size/actualality. Theyd also be struck to know that their legends and acomplishments were so screwed by todays so called experts. History has been so washed down thats its sickening to me. For instance, if you think Chris Colombus discovered America, youre already a lost cause. Chris was about a few hundred years late. Look to the chinese for that of who discovered the Americas.

who according to my roman hist professor "dont want to read" and take 10 second sound bites out of an hour long interview and twist them. but anyways my guess is he was brown or a mix of black, something along those lines. this is without a doubt one of the most interesting stories in roman history, although my favorite would probably have to be the destruction of the "first triumvirate". thats when shit gets really interesting, but that is more political. punic wars are more military history.

encircling of the large roman force. it shows it on the graphics, but i just think that was a major theme missed in the battle. as far as hannibals "hatred", i think thats pretty far fetched. no doubt the 2 civilizations had utter distaste for eachother at this time, but hannibal was acting out of reaction to harsh sanctions and debts placed on carthage as a result of the first punic wars. & as mentioned, the physical portrayal of hannibal is white washed. im guessing this is the history channel

eh kinda disappointing, good for someone who is unfamiliar with the history. the major thing to learn from hannibal is, he was the destructor of the roman REPUBLIC. as a result of his campaign, temporary dictator's were implemented to defend the republic such as fabius maximus the delayer, and then the scipios... again this is a huge theme because before for hundreds of years, the 2 consols can be compared to presidents in the US. eventually the dictators "temporary" rule for six months would be

I didn't say he was white. It's more that in North Africa they had a more mediterannean brown skin, sometimes not even black hair.

@eyemoney1 as a frenchman of north africandescent i confirm; like the toubous of libya, most native north african tribes,including many berber tribes, looked like ethiopians. they weren't white at all.this changed tru arab and turkish influence.the greeks stopped at alexandria , the vandal were a monority ,and the romans never gained full control . BTW I have a bachelor in orientalistik from the university of cologne.hannibal wasn't an arab or a white man.
