I remember playing this and I always wanted to play out the cool scene walking away from the blast radius like they do in the movies. If you shoot him instead of the cuffs, it's like the bomb timer doubles so you can just walk out and away from the building as it blows behind you. It costs someone their life, but you feel like a total badass. Totally worth it...
I bought this went it first came out and had all the same issues with getting out that damn door. I finally decided it was just a matter of luck b/c sometimes one thing worked, then it wouldn't, then something else would work. Great game in any event. I must have played through twenty times or more to get every ending.
lol when i used to play this (ages ago) i'd always get annoyed, i wanted to find a way to make it so that the dermo design guy doesnt die so i could solicit more information from him XD i guess this is just not possible
I have no idea how you do this. Every time I play this segment, even though I leave the inside screen ahead of the scientist, I always wind up stuck BEHIND him on the way out, and thus get caught in the blast. Someone suggested slowing my computer down with Turbo but I've tested it at 10% increments from 70% all the way down to 10% with no success.
Man do I feel you! This is what you do forget about the speed. Just put your gun away after you shoot the hand cuffs and click the ground like thirty times. No gun makes him gun faster! go figure. But hopefully after a month u passed this so I guess it's for future readers!!! Good luck

After you ran out from the Dermo Design, you must quickly run to the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER of the screen. There you will be at a safe distance from the blast radius.

You'll need a program called turbo to slow down the computer ALOT to get past this part without dying or leaving him inside the building to blow up.

I had the same problem, but installing CpuKiller3 and slowing the CPU by ~95% helped.
