@djdavemick He should have............this song, like many other classic 80s tunes bring back epic memories that I wish I could bring back instantly. Thank God I was there and I wouldnt choose any other decade to be in.
I heard this song one time when it first came out on a college radio station, U92, WVU. I managed to find it on 45 rpm a few days later. And then, never heard it again, no one knew nothing of it and other than the 45 I was left with, it disappeared until I saw it here. I guess God bless youtube.
i agree, why hasn't numan got an MBE for his contrabution to music. or as you say a lifetime acheivement. it's about time he had both or a least one of them.
This is numan when he didnt know what direction to go in musically , a realy bad phaze of his career , still looks good on the vid but a really bad numan song im afraid.
Long time Numan fan, I was lucky enough to catch this on tape as I was randomly recording a radio station in Arizona in 1987. I've been looking for this ever since. But this'll certainly do. Thanks for putting this up.
i just picked this 45 up yesterday, having never heard it ... just the fact that gary numan was in it made me buy it ... it's an ok single ... no real hook to it, but that's ok, it's not horrible ..

goofy Numan. I like "Metal" Numan or "Down in the Park" Numan better. I never heard this 80's lame tune before and I shall never hear it again. Why did the great Gary Numan do this?
I hate to be rude but some people (like dajzilla) are too much. They listen to crap like Van Halen and they have the nerve to criticize something that is light years ahead of most American artists. How can you expect an American Van Halen fan to appreciate good music???
Careful now - I'm an American Van Halen fan who loves Numan's work. I've been a fan of his since the late 70s (when Van Halen was at it's best) and will choose Numan every time over VH.
Gary Numan is one of the most honest artists in the music business, and the voice, should have sung 'Tragedy in Blue'another great song from Hugh Nicholson
love this song,it suits numans voice and is a great get up and dance song can't understand why his fans don't like numan colabarations i think there great.
dischordantbelief why are you being so aggressive to people who like this song? i actually went up to Gary Numan this year and asked him to sign my copy of Automatic and RadioHeart and i told him i thought they were really good songs, so if the man himself doesn't do it then what makes you think you earn the right to go slagging off his fans for liking certain songs? I love all his music ranging from his so called best i.e replicas, tpp etc to his apparent worst machine & soul, automatic.
I am in Los Angeles, California, USA you stupid moron. It would be a little bit difficult to get to Wembley Stadium; it would cost me quite a bit to hop on a plane and fly into Heathrow. However I did see Gary at a show here in the Hollywood Palladium in the mid 1980s.
Awesome song - just imagine if AHA or some one of that ilk had done this it would have been a huge hit - but for Gary it was during his period of isolation...Thanks Beeb
he should have left out the singing poodles....

Back in the day (1987), I thought for sure Gary was going to have a comeback with this.

Gary can really handle pop vocals.....but wow! the band is extra cheese '80's. I guess nothing ages well. Cool track though.

He really studied David Bowie for this video. It's kind of eerie how much he mimics all his moves, I guess it's a homage.

For me, this song brings me fond memories of 1987 and my first year in college. That's why I like it.
