  • I hate this part of the movie. So sad.

  • Goodbye Indipendence...

  • I just wanna point out. Dont you need oxygen in order to have fire? And their in space.

    Still a great movie though!

  • Is there a reason youtube videos love to buffer?

  • Noooooo! they killed Owen Wilson! Damn it!! you bastards! D8

  • omg that a vacuum fire !

it burn vacuum you dumbasses!! Why you say 'fire in space is impossible'!

look at the chemical equation :

    burning material + vacuum = energy +CO2/CO

  • good

  • why didnt they just manouver around the astroid slowy and cautiously? instead going full throttle

  • @ustiansniper they were only roughly 500mph faster than the asteroid. if they took it any slower that means less time to drill.

  • @ustiansniper cause thats boring

  • Hahahahaha fire in space is impossible

  • @2835579DM it is possible in "closed" areas, if they (and they did) brought oxygen with them

  • This is capcom, Houston.

    Houston, this is marvel!

  • everyone is finding out flaws in the movie... but why is not anyone appreciating the fact that this movie had VISUAL EFFECTS way more advanced for a Movie made in 1998

  • Fire in space?

  • Armageddon is noted for its large number of scientific inaccuracies.NASA supposedly showing the movie as part of its management training programs. The idea is to find the highest number of impossible things in the movie. The record stands at 168.

Breaking up an asteroid just before it hits, wouldn't work: you would end up with the Earth being pelted by millions of pieces. A clean break in two is physically impossible.

From the phyics perspective, it's very bad but for moviegoer it's good.

  • owen wilson! noooooooooooooo! why?

  • I bawled! Again

  • 3:39 The shuttle freedom pilots probably said shit that was close when independence flew by meters away from them.

  • Worst movie of the century. It's like watching a car crash, you can't look away.

  • not to be bugging about the facts that are supposed to support this portion of the movie...but how would NASA know the chemical compounds and minerals that make up the asteriod if nobody has been on it to test it O.o just thought that was weird

  • Aimendenstore you know you are supposed to give credit to the makers otherwise you might lose your vids.

  • are you a freaking cyborg...:D

  • 1:53 That asteroid looks BIGGER THAN TEXAS! IT LOOKS BIGGER THAN EARTH!

  • o my gosh that is some powerfull stuff

  • IMO one of the simplest, most powerful moments is at 4:18

  • bruce yells in this and 5th element...lmao loud mouth

  • hey what is the name of the music at 8:55

  • You know, you'd think for a mission like this, the shuttles would have some sort of armor plating? Look how quickly one of them is sent spinning after being hit.

The viewports seemed too easily damaged as well.

No matter, still a kickass movie!

  • @SFisher1993 maybe did they werent completed when they were needed and the shuttles were just sent up as they were

  • what the point of a mayday in space lol

  • @kingnick104 "MAYDAY MAYDAY!......*BOOOOOOOOOOOOM*"

  • @kingnick104 In any case, it's signalling command you're going down, weather you're in air, space, or underwater. If they continued and died without saying anything, what would the point of that be?

  • @SFisher1993 I'm pretty sure any shuttle couldn't withstand a gigantic rock hurtling towards it at several miles per hour..

  • Name of the song, as Independence ship begins to crash?

  • @NumBaONeHaTeRz /watch?v=O6VnsUxtYyA

    starting around 3:30

  • @GeneralXT Thanks bro

  • @NumBaONeHaTeRz no problemo

  • 9:25 How can you have fire in a vacuum?

  • The music for this, when the ship goes down, is epic, and absolutely chalk full of heavy emotion. Great job to Harry Gregson Williams, Steve Jablonsky, and Trevor Rabin for creating such a powerful score

  • @NevadaWPFan

Steve Jablonsky? Hey thats the guy who worked on the Pirates of the Caribean with Hanz Zimmer :)

  • Hang on I thought they had another 60 hours after they left the russian space station before they had to shoot around the moon, I know the whole film isnt that long but it seems like they left the space station and just popped across to the moon for a little joy ride around it.

  • @Lee7559 I agree. But I guess for pace of the movie and time they just went for it.

  • who was on the independence?

  • 36k km/h god damn.

  • damn all of those astronauts

  • Captian Amerika :D

  • I wanna be up there so badd : /

  • From 00:17 to 1:35 , listen to the dialoge and think of your classroom during midterms and finals

  • how do you know that?

    because im a genius!

wahhahaha LMAO cant get over from laughing!

  • lol, Lev is just laughing his ass off at 1:24 while everyone else is struggling in pain.

  • @kira0080 Ya because in Russia pain dont hurt you, you hurt pain... ^^

  • @adeadlysinner1 Never tell me the odds...

  • Captain America here overshot the landing grid by 26 miles.

Cause I'm a fucking genius. Classic lines.

  • <3 Peter Stormare!

  • i love the russian

  • what the fuck

  • theres that tiny ugly ass ring again!

  • theres that tiny ugly ass ring again!

  • oh c'est sympa merci

  • Sir, the possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field is approximately 3,720 to 1.

  • @adeadlysinner1

Who fucking cares, its a movie, shut up and watch it and if it's too much for your brain to handle then fuck off and stop watching

  • @MrsStevenTylerXOX that was star wars reference you fucking idiot. i was not insulting the movie you dumb-ass. are you so needy for attention you create conflict on you tube

  • @adeadlysinner1

what the fuck does it have to do with anything

  • i wish owen wilson didnt die in this lol i wanted to see him more,

  • @jmariano i honestly dont know why i read the comments... thanks. lol

  • @jmariano

Really? Even in "Meet the Parents" I was hoping he'd die. lol

  • @Bananas1973 well he didnt so too bad hehe :P

  • @jmariano same :( i love his humour! he has brilliant timing :]

  • @jmariano spoiler alert

  • @KingGoose24 well i geuse you shouldnt be reading the comments before watching the video to aviod spoilers then, just saying.

  • @jmariano Thanks for Spoilng it -.-

  • 6:54 Rock calls Harry "Bruce"

  • @Bananas1973 he said. "where's...where's the other shuttle"

  • @tronfan20394

I hope your wrong. That was favourite part of the movie :D

  • I mean it might happen but seeing this movie scares me knowing that the best way to stop the impact is way more impossible...2 shuttles engaging with those debris, a soft landing in that terrain which was the best landing a shuttle can ever have if it's true..ahhh.. i cant keep myself thinking of how human race could come a thing if this scenario happen in real life...

  • those debris storm was annoying.,. i mean those explosion before the asteroid are just unexplainable...having explosions without oxygen????or even fire on those boosters when Independence got caught by a debris..my only concern is that why those film directors just made their space-inspired film more believing ..I mean i'm not questioning the movie or who ever think this shit out. i just want to wrap myself believing that those things can happen.

  • Where was Lawrence Tierney?

  • To all the captains of obviousness, anyone who made it through middle school knows that there is no oxygen in space, therefore no fires. So please refrain yourself from pointing this out another 30 times thanks and enjoy the rest of the movie.

  • what you u mean off the grid?? what are you...a friggin cyborg??

  • Comment removed

  • this movie sucks my cockyhola! bruce willis u piece a shit whore... there are no explosions in space. oxygen makes fire duhhhhh

  • @reilly11711 well there were oxygen in the space station. maybe that's why there were fire.

  • Oscar's death was probably the most tragic next to Bruce Willis' character because I wish I get to see more of Owen Wilson in the film but I felt like he was just underused. But I'm not gonna lie, for every astronaut's death in this film, there were tears and there is no reason to hate this film. those people who hate it have no emotions at all i swear! the astronauts' death have owned a place for the top 10 saddest moments on my list even if it's a Michael Bay film, I DON'T FUCKING CARE!!!! :'(

  • Did this really happen or is it a sci-fi movie...........you got to llf @ the youtube trolls that can't help but say but etc, supose its their only chance of having their dumbass say about films!!!!

  • Guys. Every video number I've been past. Part 1/2/3/4/5 etc etc, has had someone say "This is just like 9/11 when there isn't even sky scrapers in the scene. Sorry, The terrorists sent shuttles in space to land on an asteriod to then calculate the whole thing? I know 9/11 was terrible, and may all the victims of it RIP. But whenever someone mentions 9/11 then there has to be a huge debate and hate thrown all over the place. Armageddon is one of the best I ever seen. Please just enjoy the film?

  • @Slemoster there talking about seeing and hearing things about 9/11 similiar to seeing caution 9feet wide and 11 feet tall in the movie judgement day

  • Really no use to declare a mayday if your that far out in space where no one can save you... you might as well be across the galaxy...

  • @KosukiFire i think they are just really desperate...

  • the thing i dont get is after the ship crashed there were still fires and sparks and if their in space then that means no oxygen which means no fire so the ship must have contained a stable seal after the crash to keep the sparks and fires alive hmmmmmm. im wierd to find this cool

  • Njdevil281 people do that ebery day in the airforce snd navy

  • at 4:03 did he just say: Fuck yourself in a cargo bay?

  • @tfl1997 he said lock, not fuck lol, i think this movie is only PG, i actually cant remember if ive heard swearing yet?? lol Its just so natural to hear swearing that u dont pay attention to it

  • Damn, I forgot Oscar died early in the movie! :( :(

  • "Because im a genius" lol

  • Pilot: "Fuck my life..." 4:20

  • Why can't people just watch a movie...for what it is...enter-fuckin-tainment...and not real. So fire in space is to entertain us. If movies were real, they would suck, and be called docu-fuckin-mentries!

  • Comment removed

  • @Kjabery73 you are fucking-right dude.....i hate people comparing a movie into fucking-reality...

  • sadd scene

  • Fire and sound in space.. lol.. WTF ever, good movie!!

  • no human would live in 9 g's for 11 minutes.

  • @njdevil281 that's 911 you got there dude..

  • i just love this movie

  • Yeah I hear ya man. I would have helped out my friend with his helmet in that situation

  • Comment removed

  • They were wearing suits that weighted them down to walk properly. They said so earlier in the movie.

  • didnt know theres that much gravity on an asteroid

  • elenin takes on more meaning now.

  • fire in space? thats new.

  • "oh god this is it"

i feel sorry for the two pilots, they didn't even have time to get their helmets on

  • @unbeatablesniper16 They didn't even have their suits on..

  • BECAUSE I'M A GENIUS !! hell yeah ! shud do tht in the meeting sometimes

  • @kierran97 BECAUSE OF THE GRAVIY OF THE ASTEROID AND THE SHUTLE, AND ALSO THE ROCK HIT THE UPER RIGHT ENGINE, THIS WILL CAUSE A LOST OF CONTROL SENDING THEM TO THE ASTEROID. AND "GOING DOWN" IS JUST AN ESPRETION

SORRRY IF I QROTE SOMETHING WRONG

  • @religiu that is also known as burning :L

  • Mrpwendish I know what u mean but if u were just after crashing in FRIEKING space I think u might scream help aswell :)

  • 9:50 no use yelling "HELLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!" since no one will hear you in the black of space...

  • @mrpwnedish DEAD of space

  • 4:20 oh...oh my god... terrifying... WHY DO THE GOOD DIE YOUNG????! ToT

  • Comment removed

  • what are u a frigging cyborg lmao. wkakakakakakakaka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • who were on the independence?

  • Why do people in films always count down to zero then not do what they're going to do for another 1.5 seconds? You'd think that would cause them to fail sometimes.

  • The reason that the shuttle is burning is because it's fuel is liquid o2(oxygen), witch does burn and supply the fire with oxygen.

  • 0:50 - 1:11 Id be screaming and laughing my face if i were there

  • No use in calling A mayday that far out in space. not like we could get to them in time...

  • 8m26s ++

  • if people are gonna say stupid things i dont know why they watch it their just stupid!!!

  • To all who have no clue: they got their physics seriously wrong.

    Some examples:

    There is too much gravity

    Fires should not be there

There should be no "outside sound"

  • @daeld1 It doesn't matter if they got it wrong. It is and always will be one of the best movies ever made.

  • @daeld1 EXACTLY!!! Gravity would be so minimal; next to nothing. A void, No fires, no sound because no medium to resinate through, and People would have popped like a balloon. Remember the movie "Outland"? That movie was at least pretty realistic. The guy exploding.

  • @ehelibuff73 Its the nature of end of the world disaster movies to be unrealistic, did you not anticipate that when you started watching it?

  • @MyMusicsLikeADrug I like when they bother to make it realistic. Outland was realistic. No sound, no shock waves and you explode in a vacuum. Another common fail is no recoil on guns, never needs reloading, the bullets sparking off anything and then the zoom of the bullet with the casing going through the air. If my gun shot the casing with the slug, i'd need a new gun!

  • @ehelibuff73 Im finding the irony in the fact that you're talking about it being unrealistic when in reality the human body doesn't blow up in the vacuum of space and your blood doesn't boil, your body would swell in most cases but not to the extent of blowing up and you'd die due to the low temperatures. Plus in most movies gun recoil is greatly exaggerated.

  • @KatasusWielgus

The sun doesn't burn, it maintains a huge amount of nuclear fusion reactions in it's core, converting the hydrogen its composed of into helium. That results in a lot of energy being released resulting in light and heat we see on earth.

  • Capcom?...i never caught that till now...it obviously stands for something...maybe an acronym or a short form

  • @JonGeric It stands for Capsule Communicator

  • @JonGeric The company that made Mega Man? lol

  • nothing burns in space no o2

  • @bob0marly0the0legend "nothing burns in space no o2" hmm but why the hell can I see a big star out of my window called the sun??

  • In soviet russia the spaceship would crush the metiors...

  • Unlike transformers, this Micheal bay movie is actually pretty fun to watch. i mean, despite the "America holier than thou" attitudes, and the mournfully/triumphantly waving American flags at every turn, it is still a a pretty decent film. I has a kick ass soundtrack and some truly excellent moments.

One question though, could they possibly have made that asteroid look any more evil?

  • if there was only one person i can send up into space to save man kind it will be the all mighty chuck norris!!!

  • if there was only one person i could send up into space to save man kind, it will be the all mighty chuck norris!!!

  • watching this in 360p is terrible

  • they should have had maverick and goose flying

they would of had no problem

viper piloting other shuttle would have been the shit

  • MAYDAY MAYDAY HOUSTON and 3:25 is EPIC

  • 8:25

"How the hell did you know about that?"

    "because i'm a genius.."

    epic moment

  • oscar died =c

  • I've watched this movie a million times, but I always find the Independence Crashing scene (from 3:27) hard to watch sometimes.

  • What's the music while The Independence is breaking down? I can't find it in the main soundtrack

  • I feel really bad for Grace because her fiance's in one shuttle and her dad in the other, so she'd lose someone if either shuttle broke down :( They should have been in the same shuttle

  • @AllyandAnt ever heard of never putting all your eggs in the same basket?

  • @MrBishop79 erm... not really lol :p

  • Music is so sad when the Independence is breaking down :(

  • "Holy God! Everyone died except Moses. They found him in the Rush?"

  • Anyone else think it was kinda symbolic that independance crashed? After all they are working with scientists from all over the globe, this isn't about America.

  • Pilots Think...always wear your seatbelt xD

  • 15 astronoobs overshot there landing zone XD

  • I love how Lev just laughs at 1:23 while the others were screaming xD

  • uhgghh thats so nervous feeling like your in a ferris wheel that have a nitro-20x

  • captain america didnt know where to land lol

  • "because I'm a genius!" I love rockhound xx

  • 4:15 Does the captain says "Good luck Freedom!" or "Good luck Phil?"

  • @bbenjoe good look freedom....why would he say phil lol

  • @Sam93Brown

Maybe his copilot's name is Phil. lol

  • is that even possbile 22 000 mph wow if so fucking wow i couldnt hold at least 400

  • @MRNASCARFAN25 Space shuttles normally got 6 times the speed of sound, so yeah it is possible.

  • "how to you know that?"

    "because I am a genius"

    wow hahaa

  • Thank you for uploading this. The ending always makes me cry and smile both.
