Regarding learning from others,you can tell that when Frederick was a little guy, he must have watched Mr. Rogers'Neighborhood.See what he learned from listening to Johnny Costa (the pianist for the show). Listen just after Ann sings "the whistles are blowin'" Frederick plays those high chords that sound like what Costa used to play when the toy train appeared in the Rogers show. I can't tell you how much I've learned from watching these pianists on your videos. Thanks DK

I love Billy Murray singing this tune, his voice is such a natural for it but I couldn't watch your video without commenting that this beautiful woman Ann Gibson has it ALL GOIN' ON and does a FABULOUS job on the L. Wolfe Gilbert chestnut! Also...that cat pounding the 88's could give Perfessor Bill a lesson! Excellent post tdub1941

Actually, they can give each other lessons, as they all tend to learn so much from each other as the years go by. It seems that each performer tends to have their own specialties that they do better than anyone else, and this is true of Frederick Hodges, Perfessor Bill, Ann Gibson and many others!

I first saw her perform at the WCRF of 2006, so when I returned in 2007 I was excited that she allowed me to do these videos of her so that I could post them here on YouTube.
