Thank you for this great performance. This video really showed me the overtones - they sustain for alot longer than I thought. Any tips for a soon-to-be beginner Tabla player?
Hi McPavan, thanks for the comments, you are right my Guru ji was from the Punjab Ghrana, his name was Professor Darshan Singh Paras and was a disciple of Ustad Mian Qadar Bax.
drumier - Man, his shirt is a fine shirt. Who cares what a person wears? You should respect a man who can play an instrument like that, and not concern us with your own fashion obsession. I like your shirt kalamatic. Amazing playing.
I am very impressed by your left hand work!!! (Bayan (?) I think that drum is called). The right hand is incredible too, though I have watched and listened to many tabla-players, I am kind of used to that virtouse right hand playing (tira kita (?)), you are the first guy I have really admired the playing of Bayan(?)/left hand :D:D // A drummer who has not yet played tablas (on his way ;) )
:) wah ustad wah.......DHATI KIDHI NIDHI NA(TI) DHATI KITI NITI NA(TI)...... ITS A LAGGI.... KAHARWA/WHEN IT IS REPEATED ITS A LAGGI OF TIN/TRI TAAL........ ALSO U PLAYED GOOD RELAS.....DHATERE KETAYTAKA TEREKETAY TAATI TAATERE KETAYTAKA TEREKETAY DHATI.... :) DHAYRE DHAYRE WAS GOOD.... ALL THE BEST...:):):)
