  • wished your numbers and variables were displayed bigger, my eyes hurts by trying to visualize the numbers being clearer.

  • I was failing my class u helped me a lot I luv your teachings u should be my teacher my teacher is the worst!! U explained it very clearly thank I am now back to a c+

  • thank you!! that helped!

  • these is kinda confusing to me.. i thought you solve it like this: For instance if u have an equation like this:

    3x-4y=7.....equation 1

    5x-6y=8.....equation 2

No like terms have equal coefficient ..consider the x-term

Their least common multiple is 15

To make these terms equal, multiply equation 1 by 5 and multiply equation 2 by 3

    Thus: 5 x equation 1: 5(3x-4y=7) = 15x-20y=35

    and; 3 x equation 2: 3(5x-6y=8) = 15x-18y=24.. I don't know if i'm correct tho..it seems you did yours differently :/

  • Thank you so much!! You should become a teacher, you actually have personality unlike other people on here..(:

  • thank you!!!

  • thanks your doing a good thing here. most of the homework help has to be purchased in bulk and cost something which isnt good for most of us in college paying for everything for school and living. This may be pretty easy but its easy to miss something in class when your life is so busy and your mind wanders at important parts of the discussion.. i can pause and replay and come back when i need to. thank you!

  • Thank u sooo much :) helped a lot

  • THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!!!!

  • Thank you for clearing my confusion. I was a bit confused when my teacher taught me the elimination method, but I am no longer like that. I am studying for a test tomorrow, and I am hoping I can memorize your methods. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much i was having trouble with this and it really helped

  • this helped me a lot . thank you

  • omgush i so ghey

  • Thank you so much! I have been stuck on this for a while.

  • Check out Linear Equation Solver on Android Market. It will help solve problems like this and serves as a good tool to check your answers.

  • Thank you so much!

I wish you were my math teacher:(

  • Thank you so much i finally understood how to do this after watching about 6 other you tube videos, so i'm so happy i came across yours!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved your simple clear cut explanation thanks!

  • hey u look this this dude in the ultimate christmas present movie ......u rock at math!

  • Thank you sooooo much! I have a test tomorrow and I was having trouble with this. Your brilliant! :)

  • You're the man. Thanks.

  • I used to hate math, and that resulted in my weakest subject. i am kinda getting into it now..i actually like this video. could you make some videos on trigonometry, relations, functions and graphs and more on matrices? like from the beginning (basics to advanced) thanx man :D

  • Thanks so much! i wish u were my teacher because my teacher is horrible and goes way to fast. lol you helped me with my homework now!!

  • thank you this video really helped me

  • Thanks a ton for this. I was getting really frustrated with trying to figure this method out. I love substitution, but this helped a lot. Once again, thanks!

  • u r awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • rhank you so much and you kinda look like my old teacher

  • ths helped alot , thank you

  • Thanks, taking finite math. You have to remember the little things

  • Please keep doing videos, you're really a good teacher :D

  • thank you i have a fall final tomorrow im so happy thumbs up if you think this guy is a math guru!

  • i love you

  • THANK THE LORD YOU ARE HERE!

  • thanks for the help.

  • thank you so much i have a huge test in the morning and i was looking for a the perfect video to understand this and i appreciate this so much thank you

  • he's like a teacher~ thank you mister youtube math helper~~

  • This is all fine and dandy but it doesnt help when you have two y coefficients that are not opposite numbers.

  • @gabriellefreedom2001 oh my gawd watch the second equation

  • @gabriellefreedom2001 If you waited to view this until 3:37, you would see that I address that issue.

  • Thank you mister!

  • Thanks, I should of watched your videos when I was in school. But they can still help me because I'm now in Summer School. Yeah and I learned more from you watching your videos more than a year of Algebra 1 from my teacher. You're awesome!!!!!

  • You're my hero for doing this and your beard is awesome.

  • Anyway, I get the idea. Thanks for helping me study for algebra finals

  • At 6:18, you said divide each by 5. the 5 divided by positive 5 was correct.. but then when it came to the -7, you multiplied it to make it 3y=-12, when it should be 3y=7/5. And even if you were suppose to multiply it, which your not, it would be positive 12, not -12 because it's two negatives which make a positive.

  • @Stuntifed accually 3y=-7/5, remember a positive and a negative equals a negative, you can leave it in a fraction, or divide them to get a whole number.

  • @Stuntifed upon further review I have found you are right, he did the math wrong.

  • great explenation but im stuck with something worst.

    5x+5y=-11

    7x-3y=13

I got X (-7/29). But when i substitute X to solve for Y its all a mess with fractions ugh i use to like math but fractions messed it up!

  • wow ur videos r gonna make my grade's go up in maths...i learned more from u in 10 mins then i have in 2 weeks from my teacher :P

  • made my homework go by fast thanks!

  • ohemgeee. thank-you soooo much.

    i understand MUCH better,

  • Orale Santa Claus!

  • thank you so much my teacher is so confusing i cant understand him but this makes it easier

    :D

  • I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

  • thanks... you helpd me..

  • To solve for y your going to add -5 to both sides, you said your going to subtract -5. You showed the correct work, but you really got me confused on that. You really helped me out. Thanks

  • wow thanks a lot you are great. my math teacher in four classes could not even teach us that.

  • Hi my name is MAX i am in 8th grade and have algebra 1

you helped me a lot thank you very much

before i didnt know how to do it at all

now im really good at it

    thanks God Bless u!!!!!!!!!

  • hi my name is alex

i am in 8th grade and have algebra 1

yoiu helped me a lot thank you very much

before i didnt know how to do it at all

now im really good at it

    thanks God Bless!!

  • u helped me a lot. thanks

  • can you make a video about using combination

  • wow what u taught is wrong!... for the first equation you are supposed to subtract -6 and -6 to get 0...(to elimate the y)... u dont add -6 and -6 to get 0, that would be -12

  • Please look again.

I realize that the video is not studio quality (after all I did create it in my spare room/office) but even on my iPhone, I can the that the second equation in the the first example is 3x + 6y = 48.

The commentary also makes that clear.

  • @easynoob123 Incorrect. when adding a positive and a negative they cross eachother out. Simple key to help remember is " Different signs subtract, keep the sign of the larger number ( If theres a positive number subtract both numbers and keep the sign of the larger number) . example -6+6 = 0 Same signs add and keep. ( If the two numbers have the same signs, add both numbers and keep the sign that the numbers had originally) example -6-6=-12

  • @easynoob123 If you don't understand that, then punch the examples i gave into the calculator =)

  • @easynoob123 u dumb ass there not both negative

  • seriously y does it matter if he puts the 3 on both sides

  • thanks so much for the help

  • Ok. Why did I put a three (3) on both sides of the second equation in the second part of this video?in a nut shell: because I'm not perfect and it was unnecessary. Either we put both sides in parentheses and use a multiplier (same one) on both sides or we do what I did on the first equation. Oops.

  • question

why put the # 3 on both sides of tthe equation?

  • Great lesson, you helped me pass my test =)
