BR isn't bad for someone on a budget. They have alot of sales. I got a black monogram suit. made with italian super 120's wool. Originally about $700 retail, got it for about 360
Banana Repulic is for really skinny, lanky dudes like these guys. I guarantee none of the other 20 people on staff for this video can fit into these suits.
This blue suit looks horrible. If I had the money to blow on a $1500-2000 suit, I probably would. But for a young man entering the working world with limited finances, BR’s charcoal suit is decent for what it is – not perfect (and it still needs tailoring) – but decent. IMO, the charcoal suit is the only suit worth buying from BR, especially with the 30-40% off promo.
Good taste in clothing takes practice and knowledge. Although a great org, sometimes GQ leads men in the wrong direction.
@Chimpofthedead... Banana Republic, I won't buy. But in the suit world, that is very cheap...If you are looking for full canvas, well draped suit, hand made suit, $495 does not close.
@Chimpofthedead I am not promoting Banana Republic, Although i used to work for them. If someone had $495, I would advise him to save it or add to it to buy a better quality suit. Really it comes down to what you are looking for and your views on men's clothing. For example, I am not a computer savvy, and all I am looking for from a computer is going online, send email, use Microsoft. So I went and get myself a $300 laptop, didn't understand why some others were $1500+. The truth is those two
...laptops are even comparable, while I think that I just made a great deal buying a $300 laptop, a computer savvy and enthusiast is thinking that I just waste my money. I did ask and the rep was trying to tell me the difference between the laptop I bought and those others, Honestly, not one thing he said made sense nor were they important to me. Sure, a $200 suit will cover your body, but comparing it to a highly made suit is the same comparing my laptop on the same level as the $1500+ ones.
'Don't like it. Banana Republic? For a good suit? For that price I can get a Super 120, made in Italy and perfectly tailored, right here in my hometown (Miami).
@varun009 because.... the quality of your suits are probably horrible. Either buy a cheap suit, and keep it for a few months to a year. Or buy a quality, expensive suit and keep it long enough to even pass it on to your son. Unless you're talking about thrifting those suits...
@Vallecaucanisimo well then again it is cut to his body and maybe he prefers tighter pants i just realized that it wasn't the suit i liked it was the fit on the model.
@antropoloscar Well yes, but then do you have to show everywhere you go how much money you got? I mean for work and for casual occasions it is just perfect....
If it's anything like virgin olive oil it's the first pick of wool from the sheep

This is kinda out of the topic but what's the difference between wool and virgin wool?

Fucking ugly suit

The rope shoulder look terrible and if you can't afford a more expensive suit, peak lapels and pinstripes are probably not for you anyway.

its the shine that gives it away... otherwise its looks better than many of the expensive suits that ive seen
varun009 1 year ago
@varun009 I bet you can get better looking ones.... I like it a lot, except for the pants, they are too tight. A little bet more slack looks better.
