i'm guessing the giant weapon is to replicate the Symbiote's ability to shapeshift their 'suit' into weapons and projectiles. Carnage can do it and since Scream and the other children of Venom are Carnage's siblings, i guess they can do it too.

dude, anything involving the Symbiotes is automatically awesome, no matter how bad it is. if they put the whole Symbiote family into the Marvel Legends line, i'd shit bricks, then buy them all... totally want a Toxin figure
