Hi Dale ! thanks for answering me so soon !! You can´t imagine how happy I feel. One day I´ll cover this and it would be a pleasure to send you as a video response.
Everytime I think I am halfway smart, I run across someone like you who figures things out and then has the ability to explain it so well that even a dummy like me can pick it up. I have wanted to play this song correctly for a long time. Thanks so much.
sure appreciate you taking your time to check this out - isn't this such a great tune! I hope you are enjoying your music and i wish you all the best!
I learned this today from your video. I will rerecord it, but wanted to try my first video to post. I tried it on my acoustic and my electric. So I went with the electric for something different. Still working on the drop down on the high E 13, 12th and 11th fret. But my first try so wanted your opinion on touch, tone and how this could work on an electric as it sounds less like that bluegrass sound I have always enjoyed. Yes, I like to experiment.
Learned this song way back in the late-1970s from Dave Feretta in Denver, CO. Been showing lots of folks how to play it since then, but after seeing your video, I think I'll just start deferring to your YouTube lesson. You do a really great job on a great song. Thanks for posting!
hello and i really enjoyed your post! Great to hear you've been playing this song for a good while! Your kind words are greatly appreciated and i just wish we could pick it together......great old tune! All the best,
Great lesson! I just have one question for you, what key are you playing this song in? Are you using standard position chords when you play the verse and chorus or something else.
Great job. You are a great teacher and picker. Care to tackle Lonesome Dove and Nighthawk from his Cowboy Songs 4 CD? If you don't have it, I'll send you a free copy. MMM is one of my favourites. I catch him whenever he comes by. In fact, I'll be seeing him in November '09 (Northern Cal).
hello and thanks for your kind words......very appreciated! I've not heard those two tunes but i'd be glad to give them a listen. MMM is the real deal and i'm glad you've got him on your calender - all the best,
Dale, what a great way to start my Mon. morning b4 work w/ my favorite MMM song! Wish I could sing in the higher registers like he does with that smooth voice. Excellent lesson as usual, so easy to follow, you're a great teacher, thanks for posting. I'm working on my next one.
Hello brother - wish we could sit & pick this one together with you covering the vocal! Again your video was terrific - looking forward to the next - hope your week is good!
Dale, for me to cover vocal on this tune, we'd have to bring 'er down a key or two, or have me surgically altered......lol......I'm opting for the lower key! Guitar sounds great, man, and thanks for your subscription!
Dale, have you heard any Bluegrassers do this song? Pretty cool. Hope everyone is well at your hacienda. That Collings sounds nice man! What a gorgeous guitar. Best Wishes, Dan
hello Dan.....i've heard a couple of BG covers - pretty cool - for me i still prefer the original. Thanks for the kind words and i hope you and your gang are all doing good as well!

To clarify, I have a legal extra copy of the CD with artwork jewel case, not pirated. Greatly appreciate what you do.
