There is a lot of emphasis on phonics with english; It would be super helpful if teaching focused on phonics with japanese as well. I personally have a hard time pronouncing the japanese "r", as it's more of a click of the tongue than a rolling in english. Thanks for listening!

That's an interesting point. As kana is 100% phonetic then that usually classes as "phonics". Unless did you have something specific in mind? It might be possible for me to rework some of my GenkiPhonics materials for Japanese!
