Do you like the Black Ice? Is it different than just turning the gain on the amp higher? Is it as good as an overdrive pedal?

I really like the idea but haven't tried one yet.

Glad to see a Black Ice demo! That's just what I was expecting it to lend to the sound. I'm looking to throw one in a generic Tele I'm customizing. I'm wondering why you went with the 500k though, the site I found it on specifies a 250k pot. Seems to work fine for you; did you experiment at all?

just get a pair of 1N34A germanium signal diodes, cross the polarities and replace your tone cap with that to get your own black ice at 2 bucks :P

soo wait u changed the pickups and toook off the neck binding? DO the humbuckers give it a heavier sound i want a heavy sound but i cant afford an SG standard or special so i gotta buy this. Give me sum feedback please?

this guitar come with some heavy sounding pickups, their is no neck binding, great guitar 10/10

Pickup covers don't effect the sound of the guitar. But I'm not using the original PU, I put 57 / 57+ gibson humbuckers.

Actually, chrome pick up covers will make the sound warmer/bassier. If you take the pick up covers off, it'll because treblier, there are videos on youtube demonstrating the effects :)

yes they do. pickup covers add shielding which is good but it may reduce a little highend. which you may or maynot want

probobly 500K because of humbuckers. 250k will get you a slightly warmer tone.
