  • thank you for these! so easy to follow, i just love the way you teach.

  • gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood

  • First time viewer - love the simplicity of your videos - could listern to them all day

  • Thanks for catching that. Well "achcha" is more or less used similar to "good" in English. So you can say This TV is good, This game is good, He is good, I am good etc. similarly in Hindi you can say, "yeh TV achcha hai", Yeh game achcha hai, wo achcha hai, main achcha hun but when it is plural number then it will be achche instead of achcha, They are good = "woh achche hain", these toys are good= yeh khilone achche hain. Hope that clears the confusion little bit.

  • you said that acha is the word that is meant for the objects only , then again ur using same word acha in "mai bahut acha hu" ??????

i dint understand tis plz reply me soon..

  • dhanyavaad....this is AWESOME and has/will really help/ed me :)

  • @liz143100

    good luck :)

  • @itwasnoteasy

oki i got it.. thanks for a very fast reply..

  • @itwasnoteasy If "yeh" is "this", then what is "issko"?

  • thanx

  • why end with adios?this spoils it.after all we are learning hindi arn't we? just to add a little on the masculine and feminine.most of the time the feminine ends with an ee sound like ghari for car.so it will be like mere gari.

  • i really learned a lot, just the way you went about it teaching the words and then using them in a sentence, im going to india this summer so i need to learn little things like this ^.^

  • TU HAI MEEEEEERIII KIRAN :D <3

  • thank youuu so muchh :) this is really useful!

  • Aap bahut acche hain! These are my first lessons in Hindi! I am so exited! I go to India next year, so I need to improve a lot! Shukriya! Thanks a million, best wishes from Spain, Raquel

  • Yea I got so confused when watching this. But I did learn a little bit :) How do you know which words are feminine and which are masculine when using mera/meri..like mera fan and meri chair?? That I don't get!

  • @8270361507

hmm.... tough question :-( need face to face explanation probably but still will give it a try...

    cellphone -masculine (mera cellphone)

    house - masculine (mera ghar)

    place - feminine (meri jagah)

    eyes - F (meri aankh)

    mouth - M (mera mooh)

well this is really tough how to identify whether this is masculine/feminine but there are languages which distinguish these. And all of these languages have same words masculine or feminine.

  • hoooo .........love it :) THANK U

  • @itwasnoteasy this it great! i want express my great appreaciation for these lesson's. i used aur kya chal reha hai?, the other day and it took a while for the person to understand what i was saying, but they eventually got it. will my pronounciation get better as i keep on practicing?

  • @nini21inlove

it may have taken a while for them as they wouldn't have expected a statement in hindi from you. But yes keep practicing. Listen carefully and try to reproduce same sound eventually you will get there and you don't have to reach 100% perfect :-).

  • very good

  • yeah when my parents asks me something most times i just say ahcha

  • I noticed you said अच्छे is for people ( good job done) and अच्चा is for objects, but then you said mai bahut अच्चा hun for 'I am doing great' So is that right and not achche hun? Anyway it is a great lesson. You and hrishimittal are both awesome with your lessons and I really appreciate them.

  • thak you this is very good for me..trying to learn tibetan and hindi languages. going back home to nepal in november.

  • @ LaLokPR : I think you are referring to the word " bas" which sounds similar to paas, but actually "bas" means "enough" which can sound normal or when in anger to stop a person talking, they can also say as "bas!!" so thats the difference. I hope this clears your doubt n im proud to clear it becuz i dont know hindi at all !! :-)

  • Wah now i easy to watch mah fav show Choti bahu.. :p I learn more den more..Thanks to itwasnoteasy.. :)

  • Thank you so much- i've bee watching all your videos there all wonderful and really helping

    you excellent teacher

    thanks again :)

  • When you are pronouncing words with an "n" on the end of the word, such as Haan, you don't really pronounce the n. Is that normal for all words that end with an n?

  • in om shanti om (movie) om's mom says "paas!" and the translation was "stop!" and she wouldnt say near for stopping him so ... i'm confused

  • I am not sure what are you refering to?

Can you please write down the whole statement?

  • @LaLokPR ahhh, think i know what u mean. she probably said 'bas!' which means 'stop' or 'enough'. ..correct teacher ji???

  • @LaLokPR Well Im not indian but there are so many words from Arabic in Hindi language, I think the word u heard was Baas or Bass ( dont know how to spell it) & that means That's it or Stop

  • Thank you for this!!!! Please continue to teach! I AM DESPERATE TO LEARN!!!

  • ok thanks! i was confused. o and i like ur website! im AMAZED by indian culture...and i love the food so much! so it was awesome u talked about it in ur page :)

  • Thanks for the wonderful comments :-).

  • whats the difference between hai and hain? i keep on replaying them but they sound the same.

  • Well the difference is "hain" is a nasal version of "hai". Try speaking "hai" holding your nose the sound that comes is "hain" it may look funny though but after some practice you don't need to hold your nose :). It is used either to add respect when talking to elderly people or for plural statements.

Ex: This is mine (yeh mera hai)

These are mine (yeh mere hain)

That is your (woh aapka hai)

Those are your (woh aapke hain)

  • Very very useful for me.... Thanks!.... Keep doing more like this....

  • not too long. i love your videos. adios.

  • Namaste!! aap bahut achche hain. ye video bahut achcha hai.

    Chello! Video 5!!!

  • I remember when i was little my mom would always love it when i spoke hindi, but i would always get frustrated because when she asked me a question and i said yes in hindi, she would always think i was saying "huh?" and repeat her question. That was one thing i always hated about the hindi word for yes. Your videos are great and very helpful.

  • nice clip.

    by the way..for I want

    I have learned

    Mujhko chahihe

    but u said mujhe

    what's the difference?

  • There's essentially no difference. Both are correct and both can be used for I want. Mujhko Chahiye OR mujhe chahiye both are equally correct. You can use either one. Thanks for bringing up this point very nice observation.

  • Ap kese hai. I am having fun taking your Hindi Lessons. I have taken Lessons 1 to 4 and will review for the next week. Then I will check aur kya chal reha hain in Lesson 5.

    Adios to you. Great job!!!

  • main achcha hun :-).

adios to you too Great job!! :)

  • this is great shukriya!

  • Shukriya hai..

  • achcha is used for male and achchi is used for female.

    Ex:

ye ladka achcha hai (ladka is boy)

ye ladki achchi hai (ladki is girl)

  • What's the difference between aacha and aachi?

  • this is GREATTTTTT.!! thank u soo ,much this is helping me tremendiously THNK UUUUUUU.!!! =]

  • What's the difference between mein and main? or know when to use both...

  • mein is pronouced |mā| as in Take, Lake, Bay etc. (This mostly means IN) like - (In house) (Ghar mein)

    Main is pronounced as

\ˈma\ (nasalized) which means I (me)

  • \ˈma\ as in can, van, tan etc

  • Thank you for this video!...and for all of them ..Gob bless you !

  • You are doing a great job with these videos. So simple, yet so useful and simple to understand and follow. Great, GREAT! I am from Brazil and my father has family in India so I want to learn Hindi. Thanks for these videos. Please keep posting more and more...

  • no unfortunately this will be wrong.. :-(.

    if you want to say

"I liked it " - "mujhe bahut achcha laga"

"i am good" - "main achcha hun"

"i am very good" - "main bahut achcha hun"

"we are good" - "hum achche hain"

"we are very good" = "hum bahut achche hain"

  • can you say: mujhe bahut aache hai?

  • dhanyawaad =) you are really successful in teaching =)

  • is hai and hain pronounced the same way?

  • "hai" and "hain" are pronounced exactly alike, except that the vowel is nasalized in "hain". If you're familiar with French, it's like the nasalized "o" in the word "bon".

  • I just started learning Hindi, its such a beautiful language ....

Thank for your tutorial, its really great

( I like the way you explain every word in an hindi phrase ) ... that really great

    Thank

    Sparrow3d ( Mauritius Island )

  • Hello! am from Colombia Bogotá i go to India for 3 years and am very very happy to learn with you, really thank you so much!

  • Congratulations!!!! You made this language easier... I've been studying hindi since last year and I liked a lot your way... take care.

  • im still learning too...but i think the 'N' (like at the end of "yahan") is there, but its a softer sound..an 'N' as the start like "Naa" is harder.

Don't breathe into the 'N' at the end if that makes sense, and just catch the end of the word with the 'n' sound.

    not 100% sure tho..but hth x x x x x

  • I don't feel difference between nazalized 'N' and lackof N at the end

  • This is excellent, nice style, thankyou. you've got me hooked!

  • Dhanyavaad!! Keep up the vids! I'm so gonna surprise everyone when i go back to India!!
