I'm a practitioner of mainland 7 Star Praying Mantis and people often find that hong kong mantis appears..."restrictied" this is due to the fact that Shandong-mainland region mantis is from is conutryside=space. however when it was transmitted to Hong Kong, muxh of Hong Kong island is dense city and many of the moves and forms/stances were made smaller or more resticted simply due to lack of space-sounds silly when thinking of one person, makes sense when thinking of whole Gong Fu class :)

7 star form the mainland is different than 7 star of hon kong... the foot work seems to be much more active.
