Primates DO NOT make good pets at all. Even the very tiny marmoset needs a lot of space, special diet, and attention. Leave them in the wild where they belong.
I guess it depends on the breed of dog you're comparing them too.
For example, huskies and the retrievers are quite intelligent in comparison to Chow Chows, who can't even find treats hidden under a bowl, that you've hidden while they were watching.
it sed they eat bugs and fruit.some types chew on trees 2 harvest the gum inside.some species r specialised feeders on the gum from the trees.thats wat it sed on wikipedia.
Excruciatingly cute! I LOVE marmoset's They are the best. I wish I had one as a pet. It's impossible to resist these guys. They're so humble. I also love Lemur's and Tarsier's. They are just the darnedest!!!!! Thanks for posting this irresistible video. It made my day!

There's a documentary called Gremlins:Faces in the Forest about them!
Zonambula 2 years ago
It's a shame it wasn't released on DVD yet. I would have liked renting it.
This documentary was part of PBS' "Nature" series in the late 90's but isn't available on DVD. :(

I wish there would be a marmoset infestation where I live. It would be the cutest infestation ever. Way better than cockroaches.
transewookie 2 years ago
:) These little guys would probably eat all of the cockroaches.
canucktunes 2 years ago
are they in pet stores?????
sovaever 2 years ago
I filmed them at the Zoo in Moncton.
canucktunes 2 years ago
oh ok thx
sovaever 2 years ago
no lol, like only 12 breeders in the us
allhopeisgone32666 2 years ago
I think it may be illegal to sell them here in Canada. I've never seen them at any pet store here.
canucktunes 2 years ago
For example, in my country, it is possible to buy them in special pet stores

And let's not forget the warmth. I'd need to turn the thermostat up quite high to keep one of those little guys warm.
canucktunes 2 years ago
Are they smart?
kikikiki7 3 years ago
I don't know. But they are quite inquisitive.
canucktunes 3 years ago
theyre very smart
allhopeisgone32666 2 years ago

omg, his face looks almost exactly like a magwi's (gremlin)
UsagiOhkami 3 years ago
I think the designers of Magwi were likely inspired by marmosets. There's too much of a similarity.
canucktunes 3 years ago
omg so cute.

You got a great video there. I love Marmosets ever since I saw some at a zoo. 2 were cuddleing and I was gutted I forgot my camcorder.
lozzangel2 3 years ago
That must have been cute. There were two in the pen when I was filming but the other one was a bit shy.
canucktunes 3 years ago
omg, i don't think there's anything in the world more adorable than this!!!

canucktunes 3 years ago
4 grand would be worth it for me.
weepingson 3 years ago
I'd probably need to get an extra room and set it up with the proper plants and humidity settings as well. Ottawa gets pretty cold...

Hmm. I wonder if it's a male or female. Forgot to ask. There were two in the exhibit, the other being way too shy or nervous to film.

Yeah, my brother mentioned that as soon as he saw it as well.
canucktunes 4 years ago
That marmoset is precious I could eat it up, lol! I wonder what must have been going through its little mind when you filmed this.
Sportiboy 4 years ago
It was a bit nervous, so I basically moved as little as possible - except the occasional movement of the fingers to get it to look at me.
canucktunes 4 years ago
Very nice animals. Thanks. BTW are they carnivorous?
MysterEy1 4 years ago
They eat insects, fruit and leaves.
canucktunes 4 years ago
Cute as in: very cute.
I like!
Perico1973 4 years ago
I didn't expect them to be so tiny. Actually, I didn't expect to see them at all - They're displayed with snakes and lizards.
