Today I went looking for a new refrigerator, I saw the LG LFX31925ST, it is a very nice piece of equipment . However, after reading many poor reviews on LG, I won't be going back tomorrow to buy it. Which brand is the best?
LG and Sears buy their refrigerators from the same manufacturer, They just change the labels and the cosmetic features. I just purchasted a Kenmore Fridge today from Sears that I know for a fact LG has their own versions of. Now im weary to get rid of my old one, I may just put it in the garage!
As a former S***s Refrigeration Tech, I can confirm LG's faults. Their products remind me of Legos, everything just snaps together in a cheap fashion. I admit they have neat design concepts but the overall products are not worth the money and down time when they fail. Best to stay away from LG I'd say.
My LG fridge I purchased brand new 3 months ago is now broken. Ice maker is not working . It has water dispenser but water is not coming out. So frustrating! ...save your money, guys buy a better brand.
You should have bought it Sears with a service contract and you wouldn't have to worry about your repairs costs, food loss and if the liner is beyond repair the firdge would be replaced. Lg fridges have improved 100% since 2010. Do get me wrong I dont work for LG or anything but I am a repair tech. I'm am sorry your fridge has given you so much trouble.
@stopyourbitchin If Sears would have had a model I liked maybe I would have done that and I shouldn't have to pay hundreds of dollars on service contracts for appliances that cost a couple grand. They should be making better quality products - not products that are known to fail and then will do nothing about it. LG makes some beautiful looking products but whether or not they are better since 2010 makes no difference to me. I won't be buying anything with their name on it again.

In case anyone didn't know, they were responsible for all the Goldstar junk electronics up till the mid 90's. That's what the G in LG stands for - not "Good" as in "Life's Good". The L stood for Lucky which was mostly a hygiene products company. That explains a lot about their quality and technology (or lack of).

We had the same refrig (bought it Aug2006). Installed Nov2006. I came home Dec2009 and opened my fridge. It was dark, warm and smelled like burned plastic.
The light unit was hanging by melted plastic, my cheese slices were wavy and the ceiling was bubbled plastic - looking like water about to drop from the ceiling.
I called LG. I gave them my model & date of purchase and issue....
In a way I'm glad I'm not the only one to have problems with their piece of shit products. My fridge has had the problem of not properly cooling inside at times and causes food to become room temperature. After service, it STILL doesn't work properly! I've decided to buy new fridge rather than waste more money on this lemon. And an LG DVD VCR machine stuffed up after few months. Their products are total shit and I will never ever buy another ever again.
Not only have I had severe ice maker problems (my LG fridge dumps them on the floor), but the temperature control module melted down from the roof of the fridge and torched the light sockets. Because the until was a month out of warranty, LG only replaced the plastic housing but did not update the design-flawed electronics unit. The unit has melted down again, and now I have no internal lights. LG refuses to talk with me about the issues.
I am relieved to know that I am not alone on this one! Post this on your facebook or other social networking account. If LG doesn't take care of its customers, then maybe it wouldn't have any more customers in the future! Lets use the power of networking against them!
I have the white version of this one, and my bottom freezer every month or so creates a 1/2" ice sheet on the bottom, noticeable when you pull the door open, ice crunches under the wheel tracks, even after a 24 hr defrost and cleaning the condensate tube thoroughly, LG, Life's Good my Ass,, Oprah the #1 Global Corporate Kiss Ass Mouthpiece

OMG same thing happened 2 me. I Bought it in 2007 then this week the control panel FELL OFF THE ROOF of the fridge and melted plastic around it. Fridge over heated..butter melted., food spoiled and motherboard was hanging by a wire literally.
Scary! I unplugged it in case of fire hazard. Crazy only 3 years old..what a nice looking piece of crap

LG IS A PIECE OF _ _ _ _! I spent over $2,000 and they never backed up their warranty. There are no serviceman and part are almost impossible to get.
BUYING LG means their life is good and all your money is gone... I agree with all the comments-DON"T BUY LG
