@krbntrtmn do you think that the primus song tommy the cat is about Tom Waits? it does seem to me now that les is kind of doing a lampoon of toms voice when he starts telling the story from the cats perspective
@hahajoeiscool Tommy the Cat isn't about Tom Waits, but the voice of Tommy the Cat is in fact Tom Waits voice. Waits and Claypool have collaborated a good deal.
Awkward moment: Jamming to this song while your parents left you home alone for a few hours, and it's sooooo loud you don't realize they have returned, and they barge into your room and your mother is in tears because she thought the song said "Hoist that Hag".
Love the fact that Mr Waits refuse to 'grow up'. Where other tends to crawl into security and play safe he just keeps on going. Challeging him self and 'keeping the world weird'. Hoist that rag!!!
@mrsbookthief Well the quotation marks should not have been there (shure Mr Waits could have uttered that phrase though) in terms of qouting Waits for that. It's a cut from a newspaper articel, but one thing i know Waits have said is: "songs are really just interesting things to be doing with the air".
@mrsbookthief Another thing to like. That's really...well cute (sorry) and this song is anything but cute. Or is it? But it's swinging like danseing in hell. With a smile going all over your face.
I'm trying to find the official video for this, i saw it one time on a documentary about Tom Waits...it played clips of the Iraq War along with the song...it was disturbing, but very profound.
This song has always given me the uncontrollable urge to dance, even though don't know how. It's just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!
The Artic Monkeys fall nowhere in the history of music, Waits like countless pre 21st century artists is immortal, I think you need to listen to more music and open your mind up a bit more. Also the relevance of your age is questionable, learn to be more humble.
@Z1cky although I do agree that Waits and other classics are immortal in music, that's quite a bold statement considering people would have said the same thing when Waits was coming up. You can't put a time stamp on music. It doesn't work that way.
Cripes. The hobos are angry again. One of Tom's recent best! And kudos to him for the song title - what a perfect phrase.

This song reminds me of the bands that used to play at my Abuela's house when I was a little kid formulated by Puerto Rican bikers and ex hippies.
