  • Now I am inspired !.

  • The music in this video is from the movie Apollo 13. I think by John Williams.

  • where did u get the foam 4 that thing?!?!?!?!??

  • @awesomeRC10 As I stated in the video description this was not my plane, but I believe the builder got the foam from Home Depot.

  • fantastico ma al primo looping le ali si spezzerebbero in due... looping= crash

  • LOL

  • great video and amazing build, hats off!

  • Enjoyed it more the second time around..great music background..excellent presentation.....Thank you!!

  • goofy looking but to each there own

  • The guy started to make a 50 foot wingspan model of this but the belt stripped right as it lifted off the ground and then the process of trying to find one that would work he went to college and hasnt finished the project.

  • Pink Floyd's 'Learning to Fly' would have been apropos for the video...

Cool plane. Got to love that one foot roll out.

  • i want one! i can put my puppy in there! xD

  • Build another! Build another!!

  • LOL that just aint right. Oh by the way what did you use for the wing spar?

  • what a way to waste bunch of foams lol... that should call the water baffallo foamie

  • What's not to love about such a wonderful airplane. I'm heading out to my garage to see if I have enough space to build one. The music goes great with the video.

  • in the event of a crash, your seat coushin does float lol

  • ok, the funny thing is that the wingspan on thar thing is like twice that of the worlds smallest airplane! and probably the same wingspan as ultralight aircraft! bravo!

  • That... was epic :D

  • A pleasant video to watch, a regal flight and great music. I just wish the resolution was better.

    Thanks!

  • Wow! Great Idea! Great Execution! Nice Flight! Where in the heck do you store it?

  • @Boulderdaceous Never mind that. How do you get it to the local flying field? Awsome flight, almost the wright brothers......

  • @RcWorld7 I would use the Rimfire 50cc outrunner, 22x12 prop, 12S lipo, 10000MAH, Phoenix 120amp ESC.

  • @wmcneal42 wow simply amazing i want to build one i know all the stufff how to build it but my parents dent me of getting that hopefully i ll get it for christmas

  • @wmcneal42 I would use 4 double A ever readies because they keep going, and going, and going, and going, and..... lol

  • @RcWorld7 He used Polyquest Lipo batteries totaling 6S 10400Mah, Phoenix 80 ESC, and a Hacker C50 14XL with a Hacker planetary 6.7:1 gearbox. Gotta remember this was 5 years ago. Large outrunners were not readily available then. The flight took place at 5:30pm, Badger Prairie St. Park, Madison Wisconsin, April 2 2005.

  • she's got some serious dehydral.....probably a good thing L

  • oh i though this was called pink floyd because at tthere shows they's fly "planes" into the walls but they were like foam models with small explosives in them

  • nice plane

    very slow cool : )

  • @ESECK13 the video is not pink floyd, the airplane was named pink floyd because it was made from Owens Corning pink foam.

  • What size motor and servos was used?

  • Another point to this video is that flying something like that at a local flying field and fellow club members would respect you with all their hearts and souls; flying an r/c airplane is like wearing clothing: you wouldn't want to wear the same shirt as another guy, would you?...I WOULDN'T!!!

  • My friends, especially those who aren't into nor have any knowledge in r/c airplanes, is that it is unlimited in flying radio controlled airplanes; they can be very expensive, but, you can also fly those things dirt cheap!!!...

  • I believe the point was, at the time, to see just how big of a foam airplane they could make fly.

  • @wmcneal42 whats the music? thanks

  • What an INTENSELY boring model aeroplane. OK, it's big - but what the heck is the point?

  • Hobbyzone should adopt this as their "MegaCub" :D

  • Damn! If that plane was any faster it would be moving.

  • How much does this huge plane weigh???

  • jeese it looks like the wings are going to snap off

  • Why not a "Floyd" song like "learning to Fly", for example?

  • well done to all!

  • it"s an over grown pink ceasna model glider!!! HELLL,,,,I can"t even get my large scale store bought 182 to perform that well,,,,dam-it!!!

  • where is the Pink floyd music though ?

  • try riding it :3

  • wow what motor did you use

  • this flys good very good.

  • i wonder if i can make a 37 foot wingspan pink floyd.

  • hey tanks can fly ..lol wtg

  • whoo! awsome! Was that a record?

  • It may have been an unofficial record back in 2005 when this video was made, but I am pretty sure by now there have been others. I am sure it still remains the largest model airplane ever constructed in a college dorm room though!

  • WOW!!!... That was awesome.. What did you use to reinforce the wings so they didn't snap?.. Awesome job on such a huge Foamie...

  • its a shame you did not use pink floyd music, they even have a perfect song for this video: goodbye blue sky ; )

  • no pink floyd.

  • Nah, never was a fan of their music. This music is from Apollo 13 the movie.

  • any specks???????

  • See the URL in the video's description, in the upper right corner of this page, for a link to more information about this plane.

  • its DEAD NOOOOOOOO!!!

  • Sorry about that. I fixed the link now.

  • whats real amazing is that this guy who made it is a regular joe.

probably has alot of money. i saw the gear for this thing, 3 big Axi motors to one gear and a giant prop. he must have spent a couple thousand in the foam plus electronics

  • actually using pink foam is fairly cheap compared to traditional rc plane materials (balsa and spruce) Its the servos and batteries that would have cost the most.

  • Looks like an old timer with all that dihedral !

  • not all of it is how its built because of the pressure that is put on the wings when its in the air

  • It's looks like its flying in slow motion.

  • Plane just sits there the first 57 secs: jump ahead, instead.

  • impressive!

  • Cool Video, That thing is crazy big! YOu could fly your pet dog around in it

  • or even a small child.

  • if that was mine i would ride it.

  • impressive!

  • Ha! Now that is awesome. Good music match, too.

  • Very cool. Good job!

  • She certainly is BIG - although not much in the 'looks' department! (ha, ha)

  • the real problem is finding a paper bag to put over her head that is shaped like an airplane

  • one day I'll make biger !

  • Wow depron??

    electric or Fuel motor??

    greath :)

  • not Depron. pink expanded poly styrene foam insulation from Owens Corning. Yes, electric motor powered.

  • lets put a person in there

  • Holy Cow! awesome...

  • The video and music are absolutely fluid together! I stand aside and bow to the new Dawn Patrol Video Artist! How ever you did it, you did GOOD!

  • Thanks

  • I laughed, I cried. Congratulations on your fantastic success in building and flying a truly regal bird.

  • Thanks, but as I said in the description, I did not build or fly this plane. All credit goes to flybike on rcgroups. It was his project.

  • The coolest

  • very nice thanks for sharing.

  • Thats a huge plane. Glad you shared it.

    5 stars. Eric

  • Wow crazy!
