Everyone says the same thing about all the new glossy screens being too reflective. Why is the undustry giving up on matt screens? Is the picture actually better? I can't imagine it is. I swear I've seen some LCD TV that still have matt don't they?

These are very cool, but I'm content with my plastic white MacBook. The way I work with my computer doesn't need the new features.

P.S. Apple is NO rip-off. Compare NO viruses, NO bugs, better graphics, faster speeds, compact technology, built-in web cam (before Dell got one), durable metal, backlit keyboard, and much much much more, to standard PCs.

Nice laptop...but its still pointless. If they want to make a statement, sell one for $600-700 to compete against the cheaper PC bottom-end models... since all you can do with something like this is small graphic intensive programs anyway. I would rather spend a bit more and get a laptop with a lot more functionality.

Problem is that unless you're a hardcore gamer.. stay integrated graphics all the way (i don't know what games there are on macs). Video editing, rendering, animation; all reasonably graph intensive, but done on integrated graphics perfectly!

the 9400 m only takes off an hour off the battery..so if your doing graphic intensive things the apparent battery life is 4 hours instead of 5.... so it doesnt kill it that bad...according to apple at least. not sure if anyone has tested this yet.

dude the new macbooks have much faster graphics than before. the Nvdia 9600M are 5x faster. They also have a 320 GB HDD And a 128 GB SDD new this year.

no, you can get a new previous gen MacBook on apple's website for $999. And actually, its really the same price for a PC and Mac with the same specs. People tend to forget that Macs have built in Internet and bluetooth, CD/DVD burner and built in webcam when comparing specs. I found a dell laptop with the same specs actually costs $50 more. Plus, Macs have OSX, which so much better than Vista, i still like XP and used for years but OSX is so advanced and intuitive I have to say Mac is better.

EVERY laptop that you buy has wifi & bluetooth and now webcams at like 2mp in addition some even have that whole finger swipe thing and even face recognition. In relation to the CD/DVD burner... i dont even know where to begin- they charge you extra for a slightly decent burner that works half the time (cause its so bloody sensitive)and burns as slow as shit. I have a laptop from 2002 with a better burner. Although i agree, OSX owns vista

A year ago i got a hp laptop with 2 gigs of ram, 160 gig hard drive, dvd burner, "built in internet" and a webcam. All for how much? Not 1,000. I paid $600 out of pocket at circuit city.
