THIS IS REAL! Its on the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection. Rains name has a different font but he isn't in the game either... so I'm guessing he was originally going to be in there but then he got canned and was put in the Console versions to avoid public confusion.

Notice how everyone's Life Bar and "Run Bar" regenerates right after a clip of a Kombatant taking damage, and Noob Saibot isn't in the "Noob's Dorfen" Stage. Rain and Shao Kahn appear to be in the Scislac Busorez Stage. I've also noticed that Rain has a different shade of purple for his outfit when usually in the console ports he had a lighter shade of purple.

@voodoihippo And the N64 version of MKT. In the N64 (MKT) and Genesis (UMK3) versions, he had Reptile's stance. In the Super NES (UMK3), PS1 (MKT), PC (MKT), GBA (MKA), and Sega Saturn (MKT) versions, he had Scorpion's stance. He look more badass with Scorpion's stance though.

rain is playabel on a SPECIAL arcade verison of umk3 called WAVE NET UMK3, they were sent to various locations in chacago and california disguised as normal umk3 machines but with rain and noob saibot playable with brutalties as well

Rain is NOT playable in UMK3 arcade he was put in the demo as a joke from Ed Boon his fav music artest is Prince. He has a movie called "Purple Rain" he just did a sprite swap with ermac. Rain made his offical playable debuit in MK trilogy and UMK3 for SNES and Mega Drive
