what is it with these college groups who have SO much talent, but lack a moral responsiblity to sing a song such as this with complete emotion. Its all so trained and coached. they hit the notes (for the most part) flawlessly, however, with all that talent, they miss the point of music all together. An expression of ones soul, with a means to convey to the rest of the world to experiance. This was a GREAT job, simply repeating notes off of a sheet, but a PISS POOR job at baring your hearts
Do you understand how acepella works? Everyone has to make a certain noise/sound/pitch in a steady rythme with everyone else, 95% of the groups just made the same 4-8 beat sound the whole song. It's like saying the drummer in a band doesn't dance enough...
i was agreeing with nrfbtoystore but still i do feel these people should feel the music as a whole and not just look at their part, that's what should give their feeling not what their doing. each one contributes their part, no matter what it is, its what creates the beauty of the piece. like a bassist that plays a very simple bass line can still show emotion. sure drummers can move, not the same way other members can but they can.
have youever played drums? the only thing you can move is your head, which is head bobbing. or if theres a stoppage in the music but its difficult to move aroound especially if you have a back on your throne. If everybody in an accapella group put their own emotion into the song, there would be no harmony. it wouldnt sound good.
well yes i have played drums before i play them as a second instrument next to guitar. but you dont only have to move your head. if you watch different drummers the way they move their hands to hit cymbols or drums can show emotion. im not saying you have to tango while playing. and no how do you think a guitarist like Angus Young can play perfectly well while using his feet to spin on the ground? im pretty sure thats a little harder than adding just a little more emotion in to making a sound
the point is that drummers cant use their feet to spin in circles. and if they add more emotion the sound of the song changes. if it wasnt a cover than that might be fine. But its a cover and they want it to sound like the original. thats what accapella is.
Nice job. A "pop" filter, even an inexspencive one, would a good investment. But still very nicely done. Counting Crows are one of my all time fave bands.
Not a bad shot. I'm having a hard time finding a group that can beat BYU Vocal Point.

Feel sad for the big dude in the back. Doesn't get to stand by the cute girls :D. Great rendition of one of my favorite songs.

seriously, any real drummer knows how to dance around using only their torso while their arms and legs are completely occupied.. so simple. :)
