we do have a platy fish (orange color) realeased in the muddy cannal, actualy a fresh water runing canal in our vegetable garden, and they rapedly increasing now , even in the dirty canal where the water from the toilet is running, they are present and rapedly increasing in number, they even don't die that easily,.
i have a 20 gallon tank with a few platys in it and have 3 females ready to drop, i can only move so many fish so would it be better to move the males or the females? Thanks
@ShakoSaber18 Good afternoon, I would suggest keeping them in the breeder's tank until they are a month. By this time they will be big enough to be with the bigger fish, however; for the filter. wrap a sponge or netting around the filter. Because the suction on the filter might be too strong for them and they might get stuck.
i have two pregnant platys now. one looks like she's about to burst she;s so big. hehe. still dont know wen to put them in the breeder tho. i honestly dont kno how long ago they got pregnant. i have 2 males and 2 females. had to separate the males from them cuz they were getting stressed.
you have lovely fish. hehe and love the music also =D
Hello Stephster, not sure why they were that big seven days, but I kept just doing water changes, add some aquarium salt, kept the breeder tank clean and crumbled the food very fine. I feed them twice a day.
Good afternoon Awe Somo and thank you, I checked out your video they are great ^5, sadly my mother platy passed away the father is still alive argh he grumpy! The babies, I found homes for them and some came out like a light copper color with white once they got bigger. I miss them,
Thank you Calbotho and yes, one male and two females are best together and the females will get pregnant. It's always best to have a one male and two female ratio so the females do not get stressed.

Is that a small breeder tank inside your big tank? Can you keep them in that for them to get bigger?

@carlyx168 I fed the fry a small amount of tropical fish food. I crumbled it up to small pieces. Anything they didn't eat, I always took out.

Well, that's a good thing I guess. Normally, the bigger they are, the stronger they are. But not always.
