  • can you give the babies rodybush handfeeding formula and let their parents feed them?

  • I want baby lovebirds so bad!!!

  • Adorable!

Can they breathe while you're feeding them? I know you know what you are doing, but it looked like they were more drowning than eating.

  • what kind of milk this you feed them ?

  • @TheAileen87 not milk roudybush handfeeding formula.

  • @stargazrt4 do you need incubator to handfeed a 7 day old baby or just a natural lamp just to make them warm

  • @TheAileen87 ohh too bad my birdie died b4 i get that formula...

    huhuhu T___T

  • just about to ask that. visit their website :)

  • Hi I had a question how many times do you feed them a day?

  • is that the talking peaches and kiwi that i used to see here in youtube?

  • thanks so much, now i know how to feed them, i was worried of being to rough, but i can see they're just happy to get food. thanks

  • i have a question...what were you feeding the baby lovebirds because i have one that hatched a day ago and i have no idea what to feed it .....

PLEASE ANSWER because he is hungry

  • Please go to our blog trueloveaviarydotblogspotdotcom. We have all the information on raising babies on there! It's Roudybush handfeeding formula and you can get it our site trueloveaviarydotcom.

  • @bornon1995 yeah..the same question...????!!!

  • ooh I just got a young lovebird and I'm about to feed it for the first time, in about an hour from now :P I'm pretty excited...

  • WHY???!!!!

  • ....something wrong?

  • Did someone sell you an unweaned baby?

  • I got it from a pet store, they gave me full instructions on how to raise it. I have to giver it special baby-food, it's a sort of powder that has to be mixed with water and then do what you do in this vid. the cage I keep it in has a towel that it can wrap itself in at night, and a few little dishes. one filled with water, one filled with the mixture and one filled with seeds. I have to feed it 3x a day, at 9:00, 15:00 and 21:00

  • over the course of 2 weeks gradually feed less at 15:00 and after 2 weeks completely skip the 15:00 meal, then over the next 2 weeks also gradually feed less at 9:00 and 21:00 untill it relies on the seeds for food.

  • What is your feeding schedule for your babies just curious? How often do you need to feed them from day 1 and on. I've read somewhere that day one chicks need to be fed every 2 hours...?

  • Go to our blog trueloveaviarydotblogspotdotcom and then you will know. Plus, why do you need to feed one day-old chicks?

  • no im not feeding any lovebirds haha i was just curious, my teachers pull their babies when the oldest is just about to open his/her eyes :) beautiful babies by the way:)

  • were do you keep them in plz answer

  • do the baby parakeets cry or beg for food at night do they wake you up at night and are they loud at night please plz plz answeras quick as possible thanks

  • where did you get the handfeeding formula and the other thing?

  • From us! trueloveaviarydotcom. Go there, it's the best ebird store.

  • thanks have 2 lovebirds boy, girl hope they have babies

  • You can buy kaytee formula and syringe at a local pet store or online.

  • Kaytee Handfeeding formula is some of the worst junk on the market plus when you buy Kaytee you are supporting bird mills. Many babies have died because of that food especially since they changed their formula.

  • Go to our website for more information.

  • a bird center called us yesterday because they finally have lovebird babies, they're all color mutations and I'm going to handfeed them today and pick which one I'll take home once it's weaned

  • AW!

  • ";i Have OnE QueSTioN";

    ";Can I ToUcH ThE pArAkEeTs Eggs?";

    ";If I ToUch It DoeS The EgGs WiLL NoT FerTiLe? iT MEANs The EGGS Is DIe.,.,";

    ";Im WoRrIeD";

    ";Is That tRuE";

    ";PlEAsE RePlY I'LL WaIt FoR YoUr RePly";

  • Please don't write like that when asking questions. It hurts my eyes. You do not need to touch the eggs. You will not hurt them, but you are disturbing the parents.

  • Are the parents HAPPY that you are feeding them?

  • YES!

  • hello, hope you won't mind my asking. how many times a day would you feed the chicks? how much would you feed them? what's that mixture you would feed them? thanks...

  • You can learn from our blog.

  • hi, i need a lot of advices. my birds just hatch out yesterday. i dont know what to do. can you please let me know if i just leave them with their mother or i separate them from her. the feeding, bedding. omg! i'm going crazy

  • Don't go crazy, LOL! Just search for our setting up a nest box video, sprouting for birds video, and what we feed our birds video. Just let mom and dad raise them. If they don't, simply go to our blog. Just google true love aviary, you will find it! Take care.

  • At what age can we remove our babies from their mom & dad? we want to start feeding them ourselves.

  • What food did you use for them?

  • i like small pets there so cute(i know im a boy lol)

  • won't the parents take care of the birds?

why do the owner need to take care of them..

its just that my family is busy and im hoping that once the eggs are out..my lovebirds will take care of them them selves.

  • Let the parents take care of them.

  • Thank you for the video.. I've found a couple baby birds, and My not knowing how to take care of them. they unfortunatly passed away.. This video tells me a lot abotu them, and I've found out what to feed them.. Thank you again.

    ~Britt

  • No, seriously. I read that there is this disease that lovebirds "carry" and they can give it to your other pet birds and kill them in the process. You don't know about it?

  • It is called PBFD, and it is not a lovebird or parrot disease it is a bird disease. It is not "common." You would have a better chance of winning the lottery and getting hit by lightning the same day than a lovebird carrying the virus

infecting you or other birds. That is so 1970's or 80's when birds were imported in mass numbers and already infected in the wild. I personally would be more afraid of cockatoos being introduce into the flock.

    ~Rodney

  • what disease is common amoung lovebirds that you should look out for?

  • Unconditional love. It's very contagious.

    ~Rodney

  • do u get any sleep with them needing food so much? I've heard that baby birds need lots of attention and i was kinda interested in doing this

  • They are with you 24/7 for at least 3 months. Most of the time that is 3 months of hard labor, worry, no social life and without fun,

    ~Rodney

  • hi.....I already loved birds but thanks to your videos Im totally INLOVE with lovebirds....I am going to get a breeding pair to start hand feeding their babies. I already have a handfed fischer but unfortunately he was just hand feeded and that's it, as he is not that tame. One thing I would like to ask is If you feed last at around 10pm what would be the first feeing for the following day, since I was told that they have to be fed every 3hrs even during the night.thanks and keep up the gd work

  • 10-14 day old babies should be fed only 4 times a day for the first week. 8,12,4,8

  • Hey there- I was just wondering when you start pulling the babies from their parent's to hand feed them/wean them? Just need to know b/c some of my eggs are getting close to their hatch date.

  • Go to our blog and you can get all the information.

  • What are you feeding them?

  • my lovebird babies are 16days 14 days and two others with the mother 13 and 10 days i feed them the exact formula and they love it.. the oldest is growing up really fast. but how do u no what color there going to be?

  • Your babies would strive more on a better formula like Roudybush. We know the color by knowing the parents' genetic structure.

    ~Rodney

  • how do you prepare their food?thanks

  • what do you feed them

  • what are you giving them (the food)

  • hey i got 2 week old parakeets and im gonna hand feed them saturday..got any tips?

i know that the formula has to be 100*f but....

all i do it put it in the left side of the birds mouth right? cuz the mouth is small and im scared it will go down both wholes wind pipe and the other

    got any tips?

  • Just let the parents feed them. Budgies will still be tame if you just handle them starting at 3 weeks of age.

    ~Rodney

  • wow cute...i want to hold it and adopt it as a pet..

  • Aww I've been watching a few of your videos and you're so loving and gentle towards your babies, it warms my heart. You can tell a truly good person by how they treat a defenceless animal.

I bet it's hard to let them go to new homes!

  • What do u feed them? what is the blended mixture?

  • Roudybush

  • how many times a day do you hand feed them?

  • I have 1 question... Can you also feed tem with a metal tea spoon or plastic? And do you even hand feed them with a tea spoon?

  • Only use o-ring syringes.

  • in the beginning of the video they were like playfighting and after you fed them, they were to chubby to barly move

  • your doin such a great job :)

  • what formula do you used???? many thanks

  • Roudybush

  • like in your other video when you are holding en picking them up. I dont see the point of this, why not just leave the birds alone. They are to sensitive.

  • It is part of helping them to be a good pet and getting them used to humans. We are not harming them in any way.

  • We run our household like a avian vet's office including materials, records, care, and love. Not only have we been trained by our board certified avian vet, but Tamara has a BS in Biology from ASU; she has also been accepted to medical school. And in conclusion, not only am I a certfied teacher, I also have over 20 years in raising and caring for parrots. We do not raise babies just to be raising them, but so we can influence others to provide the absolute best life for their birds and ....

  • for the conservation of the species (all parrots except budgies, cockatiels, and Indian Ring-necks are considered endangered in the wild. Without breeding, many species will be lost in the wild including Black-cheek LBs), and to show other breeders that there is a better way to raise babies. We do not have to explain ourselves to anyone. We have done the reseach, we are dedicated to learning, and we are more than qualified to recieve these blessings that God has placed into our lives.

    ~Rodney

  • i see many people handfeeding a lot of those birds. Just to 'handfeed' them, cause they like it. But where are those birds going, never see people with this birds at home. About the feeding that a saw in the video. I still dont agree with this. You say that they tought you this.. Well i never had one lesson in my life(and i know a lot of birds and other animals, cause i grow up with them) but i know for sure that this is to hard for the birds,..

  • You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I do know that these guys aren't as sensitive as you may think. I trust my Board-Certified Avian Vet on this.

  • Also, are you wondering where these babies and our others are? We know exactly where they are and the wonderful families that love them. We interview all our potential families to make sure the right baby goes home with the right family. We also get updates all the time and even babysit when their families go out of town. Also, the babies' bird parents have access to them any time they want. To see where all our babies have gone, please check out our video: True Love Aviary's Family.

    ~Rodney

  • That was really fast. Don't you aspirate them??? I was taught to do it much slower unless you're tubing directly into the crop.

  • Our Board-Certified Avian Vet taught us how to do this properly. They are not aspirating nor have we ever had a bird aspirate. We were taught correctly.

  • i think you are to hard for the birds,. they are still very sensitive and you give them to much in a few seconds.

  • Nope. We do it just fine. Our board-certified avian vet trained us.

  • haha they get kinda fat easily i wanna peaches :( i am crying

  • how old do they have to be that you can hand feed them?

  • around 1-2 weeks about 4 times a day but best to have the parrents do the hard stuff because lot less time consumming (also watch they give you singns when they switch from 4 to 3 time a day. but it will take 30-40 days to wean but ya idk if it is the same with love birds but im a paraKEET breeder correct me stargazrt4 if im wrong.

  • i have one baby lovebird he is about 3 weeks old and he doesn't really give me a feeding response and while i feed him i don't see the crop come up. should i take him to the vet or something because I'm kind of worried!!!!!!!!

  • Well, anytime you suspect there's a problem, the vet is best.

  • Hi ,

at how many days do you remove the birds from the parents cage , and any idea where i can et a recipe for he formula

    Kind Regards

    Trudy

  • 2 weeks and you can get the Roudybush formula from us.

    ~Rodney

  • um i tried to email you a few times but i think it doesnt work.can you trie to put the answer in the shortest way you can

  • I sent an email. Please check if you got it.

  • how many mLs do you feed a 2-3 week old and how often and how many mLs do you feed a 3-4 week old and how often

    please respond

  • It hard for me to explain here in a comment. You need to email us at trueloveaviary@gmail.... and I can help you better.

  • do they inbreed like rats do?

  • babies won't but if you house two siblings together through maturity, they can, and that is not good.

  • How often does a lovebird couple breed in a full life?

  • As often as they (or us) like.

  • Not telling me much. How old is your couple and how often have they had babies.

  • About every 3 to 4 months (on their schedule). They are 5 years old. Right now, they have been on a break for 6 months though (our schedule).

  • Ok, i am very intrested in breeding birds and handfeeding.

  • hey.i have parakeets and want to breed them.just in case they dont take good care of the babies i have some questions about hand feeding.how many times a day do you hand feed.how or where did you get the formular.what do you need to hand feed the babies( plz be specific).plus you showed the crop in the video i couldnt see good can you like give me a link where i can find empty crops or full crops to know if the parents feed the babies?thanks

  • There are several things you need: Handfeeding tools including a scale, weight charts, thermometers, formula (do not use Kaytee Exact; we recommend Roudybush Handfeeding formula), syringes, an avian vet, nest box, good diet for the parents (no all seed diets!), white carefresh bedding. Handfeeding is very specific and you have to be extremely careful. It is not for the light-hearted and is very hard work. You pretty much have to schedule your life around it.

  • You should be able to see food in the crop. There are lots of crop shots in our newest video: Growth Progression of a Lovebird.

  • There's so many parakeets without homes in shelters and rescues and in classifieds already. Why would you want to add to the pet over population problem? How are those birds going to get adopted if you just keep making more?

  • We do not encourage them to breed by adding nestboxes or nesting material in their cages. They just choose to breed anyways, and since we do not abort the eggs, we do have babies.

  • The most important thing aside from let's say stopping breeding in general, is to educate the public about birds so they stop purchasing bird mill birds and then abandoning them since they don't understand their dynamics as pets. In essence, that will slow the pet population overall, not just us who have 2-6 babies every few months.

  • they're sooo cute!

  • how long did it take urs to hatch

  • 23 days

  • hi um how do you know how much your sapost to feed them? please tell me each week....oh ya but i know 3-4 weeks old and and all the way up to 6 weeks and about 1 mounth also what is the feeding needle called

  • um this do you have any 5 mounths old peach face lovebird and how much $ for it i now i have to e-mail you privately but i dont now how so please tell me or if you resive a messege you dont have to tell me

  • Our babies don't stay with us that long, so no, we have no babies who are 5 months old. Thanks for asking though.

  • no problem but if you know any one please tell me

  • ok.

  • Oh thank you =).

  • Excuse me what is the ingredients of the baby lovebird formula?I would want to know because I

    two baby lovebirds )African lovebirds).

  • We use Roudybush Handfeeding formula. You can buy it online and only a few smaller pet stores carry it. We do NOT recommend the Kaytee Exact handfeeding formula as it doesn't digest well in the babies.

  • cute lovebirds. im trying to breed my two lovebirds. the male is a yellow red eyelovebird and the female is a green parakeet. there trying to mate. but soon enough there gonna make it! and sadly to say after 3 weeks the chicks died.. i don't know why?...i observe before that the male only feed the chicks the female is not..she stay in the nest because the egg? the last egg

  • I'm confused... did you mate a lovebird with a parakeet (budgie)?

  • A true lovebird breeder who cares about their birds would never do that. All dogs are in the same species, so it doesn't matter if you cross the breeds, but lovebirds and other parrots are all different species because that is what God intended. You would be amazed to see that your lovebirds would be fine if you gave them new mates; it happens all the time.

  • Because of practices like that, we could lose species of lovebirds down the line; this has been true with the Black-cheeked Lovebirds in Africa.

  • kairi292,

Yes, they can mate and produce offspring, but it's not a good idea to mate those two. They are different species of Lovebirds and are likely to produce sterile babies. Mating these two types also is frowned upon in the lovebird world for the fact that doing so dilutes the two genetic lines.

  • well we'll see when the time my lovebird will lay eggs and hatch i'll tell you how they are doing juring the time. do u have a hotmail?

  • I don't have hotmail, but feel free to message me on here (YouTube).

  • well it doesn't mean that all hybirds have problems. maybe when there much much older yes but it also depends on the breeder and how they do it.

  • There is a topic in a forum I like called "dead hatchling" that talks about the health problems these little guys have. You can google Bird Lovers Online and go to the breeding section.

  • i dont care. if my lovebirds want to mate. then they will mate. i love hybirds there very adorible. and if u think there the (mule) i dont care.

  • It's not that I think they are ugly or anything, it's just that they can have health problems and won't be fertile.

  • ur stupid go get a life wat stargazt4 is saying is true

  • cute lovebirds. im trying to breed my two lovebirds. the male is a bright head mask lovebird anf the female is a green peachface. there trying to mate. but soon enough there gonna make it! lol

  • You should not breed a mask with a peachface. It creates hybrids. They are basically the "mule" of the lovebird world (infertile). Hybrids are frowned upon in the lovebird world!
