  • @ 1:29 - Jigging trilons?

  • @narnia0100 Hehehe... Yup! ^_^

  • "Space around the Starship Enterprise" :D

    WARPED!!

  • The guy almost look like John Oates of Hall & Oates. Don't y'all think?

  • I wonder if they've started glueing Dick Clark back together for NYE yet?

  • dude has the sick mullet and molester moustache

  • Anything in San Fransisco

That clue appears multiple times in the $100k portion of the game.

  • warped--records left out in the sun

  • "Sun-affected records..." :-)

  • the starship enterprise

  • My favorite Female Pyramid Players Shelley Smith, Vicki Lawrence, Betty White, Markie Post, Andrey Landers, Teresa Ganzel and Adrienne Barbeau.

Shelley is a TRUE Pyramid Diva, Audrey Landers is a Fantastic Pyramid Player, Markie Post knows her Game Shows, Vicki Lawrence is a Game Show Queen, Betty White is a Game Show Legend, Teresa Ganzel is a TRUE Pyramid Veteran along with Barry Jenner and Adrienne Barbeau is a TRUE Pyramid Phenom and the only one to appear on every version of Pyramid.

  • "Curved" was dangerous, Shelley, but you are awesome nonetheless!

  • I would've been scared to use the "curved" clue for the last one. According to my thesaurus, curved and warped are synonyms!

  • @erikdraven1731 This is true. The other two contenstants actually sue'd the show and took them to Peoples Court. Dick Clark was in the audience the whole time sipping scotch and molesting women. He started yelling at Judge Wapner and the Judge put him in contempt and in prison for a week. It was whacked! oh and the other contestants won and their prizes were that they got to gang bang the chick giving the clues.

  • Things that are warped - Mario and Lugui

  • Mario and Luigi's Pipes

  • @trent100100 I was thinking the same my clue would be a lever-skipping Mario

  • Warp is particularly tough. Good job. I think she was throwing him off with "time".

  • "Rocky Horror's time" would have been the leading clue.

  • uh, gameshowlover John Goss won on Sale of the Cetury at this time, and Sale f te Cetury didn't have celebrities.

  • Didn't Pyramid have a $25,000 winnings limit in 1983?

  • I believe it was if you won the $25,000 then that was the limit. Meaning someone could have won $10,000 3 days in a row and the 4th won the $25,000 and that would be the end of the championship.

  • yup, $25,000 was the winnings limit on all CBS GS's up until after Michael Larson broke the rules limit on another '80s CBS GS in "Press Your Luck" by racking up $110,000+ in 1984.

By 1984, the winnings cap was $50,000 and around '86 or '87, the cap was again raised to $75,000.

  • PS: John Goss was on Now You See It and won $7,000 cash.

  • Notice the clock stayed on a few seconds after he won.

  • Yeah Shelly rocks, lovely woman. Where did she go? :(

  • Hmmm... where DID she go? She was so awesome.

  • i think i found out that she does work for The Egg Donor Program these days.

  • she was a tall, sexy woman for her time.

    And smart, too!

  • Shelley Smith was my FAVORITE Pyramid guest (next to Vicki Lawrence). She really cared for her partners and wanted nothing more than to see them win it all. Plus, she really took the game seriously. I can remember a few times seeing her visibly frustrated if her teammate wasn't giving her his/her full attention. Now, that's the sign of a true competitor. :)

  • Other great celebrities: Nipsey Russell, Nathan Cook, Henry Polic II, Teresa Ganzel, LaVar Burton. But by far, Shelley was awesome for the reason mentioned above. If the category is tough, she didnt get frustrated, just when the contestant takes too long. She also led another person to the top of the Pyramid in the 5th tournament. Just before the win, the contestant won $5,000 in a 21-21 tie breaking situation.

  • I think CBS seen its second $100,000 winner at this time, right? this was taped at CBS though it was nighttime, that's why I'm saying.

  • Is that the month November 1985 this win occured?

  • Yep, this was the same day the first $100,000 tournament win on Jeopardy! occured.

  • But sadly the very first tournment winner on Jeopardy!, Jerry Frankel, died of AIDS a year after his win aired. :'(

  • Damn, that sucks, dude. :(

  • why are the squares wiggling? and the beeping can stop!

  • The squares almost always did that when someone won the $100,000 grand prize. Kind of the "Pyramid" operators way of "applauding" the BIG winners.

  • The only time they may have wiggled without a $100,000 win was when the show had "$10,000" in its name and as a gag William Shatner attempted the winner's circle all by himself.
