Here is one for you, I heard on NPR (National Public Radio) the other day, that if everyone recycled there old cell phones it would conserve enough energy to light Nevada for a year. Not sure about the science behind it but the report sounded good. You might want to look into it.
But, but, but you just don't understand. I need, I neeeeeed this useless crap. Its shiny and pretty and it dose pointless tasks. Give me Ipods and Iphones and PSPs. Give me portable DVD players and anything else you can think of to help keep me from thinking. I must not think at all cost. Distract me with your shinny baubles PLEASE!!! OK that was a joke, I totally get what your saying and I feel you. Not sure giving up all my toys is the answer though.
It's hard, I'll be the first to agree. I love ps2 and nintendo just as much as the next gaming nerd, and it's hard to resist buying. But I don't need an elephant candle holder, or yet another purse.
I think buying less can be helpful, but I doubt our society could make the mental shift far enough to buy substantially less. But who knows? I have hope.

Cool, thanks for the heads up, I'll put it on my list. Perhaps I can fit it into my recycling vid!

And yeah, our society is way too materialistic.
