Journey is better with arnel cuz Steve sounds kinda gay

As some one that grew up with Journey, neither Augery or this Pineda character are even close to Steve Perry in terms of range, vocal inflection or carrying power. I could crank this as loud as my Bose speakers would allow and it falls woefully short of the Perry sound. Saw Journey outdoor at Alpine Valley in 1984; an alltimer as far as concerts go and Perry is what made it great!

Hey, I hope you can help me out. I'm gonna be at a concert of theirs in Septemeber in VIP seating and want to record the concert. Did you get hassled about the recording? It has nothing to do with generations, Steve was Journey and you can,t compare his voice to Arnel , maybe Lady Gaga and J Bieber are your generations beloved, but that does not make them better than Queen, Led Zep, the original Journey, ACDC, Black Sabbath to name afew

Arnel Pineda was CHOSEN! coz has his own style... can sing anything from any band. And no doubt that he is now rocking the entire world with the journey. The former vocalists are long gone from the band. Arnel is not trying to replace anyone, Steve Perry or Augeri or sotto. it just so happened that the band needed someone who fits the title as their new member or vocalist . So live with it!

Arnel is a very talented singer with a great voice. He's doing a damn good job and is enjoying himself.

Those people who are permanently comparing Arnels and Perry's voice are pretty narrow minded and don't know nothing about music!

Why are all the Arnel haters criticizing his voice? Sure, he's not REAL steve perry, but if you think Perry could perform at this level at his age you are sorely mistaken. Perry's voice was beginning to fail him 15 years ago.

Ever since Steve Perry has been absent from Journey, they (the remaining members) have only replaced the lead vocal with a Steve Perry sound-alike ever since. Journey is now the ultimate Steve Perry tribute band! Bring back Gregg Rolie and his Hammond B3 and lead vocals and bring back Steve Perry and his lead vocals...also bring back Aynsley Dunbar or Steve Smith too. This band has really hit a all time low with this line-up...too bad!

Sorry, but I am a singer myself and adoring Steve Perry! You know what: Steve Augeri was a great singer as well. I´ve seen him performing "Steve`s" Songs and he did a great job, but you know what really gets me? Is the fun the guys do have again performing! Steve can´t do it anymore and they have found something more or less equal! It´s fun watching!

don't get me wrong Arnel is a okay singer but needs to get his own sound not someone else's. Emulating someone else will just burn out his voice...just like the Steve Augeri...Just remember this post in year or two...when Journey is looking for yet another lead singer because Arnel has throat problems.

No Haggardfan, Steve won't be laughing. Instead he'll be amazed how much the Arnel retained the legacy sound with all those running, jumping, turning and clapping. Steve sound i agree was best esp. wheel in the sky but that belongs to my parents generation. I like the current journey sound more faster,rougher and masculine. In short, Arnel belongs to my generation.....

I agree with the modern rock sound, im caught in the middle im about 15 years younger than most of the members of journey, always loved them growing up, but now their sound is so much stronger. Even the ballads are strong, My favorite band of today. JOURNEY rocks! Thanks for sharing theses wonderful vids.
