  • lov this i am a professional stylist myself and always preaching about how us professionals need to come together and just when I thought where are all the positive stylist BAM there u were lol good work

  • LOVE IT!

  • SUPPORT LOCAL BLACK BUSINESS

  • Well said MSMIKKO Asians mostly own these stores now and its time for us to take it back i'm sick of them selling us the things we use. We have made these people rich and they don't even hire our people fuck them

  • @NaturallyCurly1990 She's talking about taking the beaty industry to themselves aka african americans, talk about some facist bullshit. SLAVERY ENDED 100 YEARS AGO, MOVE ON and lets live as one and not independent races.

  • @WithGlases she is talking about black hair care not the whole beauty industry. I agree with naturallyCurly1990. Do you think that a black woman would be able to move to Asia and sell Asian hair products? She would be run out of town. Do you know that alot of these hair supply stores do not work with black owned company's? They actually buy knockoffs and do not stock shelves with Black owned Business hair care products. There is a documentary on youtube.

  • Racist

  • Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge! Whether someone has natural or chemically processed hair, your advice for healthy and proper hair care is most helpful. Eva "Rosebud"

  • Buy hair care products from black vendors online (e.g. oyin handmade, qhemet, kinky kurly, etc.). The shampoos and moisturizers work on natural and relaxed hair.

  • do you have your own product line?

  • Ms. Mikko, thanks for all of the knowledge you are giving us. I pray everyone will listen! I wish you many blessings!!

  • This is why I order online from small black companies.

  • SPEAK sis!

  • @TheDinahmite1 Thank you sis!!! LOVE YOU!!!!!

  • MSMIKKO100...unable to find the Beauty Industry takeover via facebook...can you provide a link?

  • As long as its made in the USA, I support everybody's business.

  • i agreeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • I tooootallly agree!!! Black business all together need to stop hating on each other and start supporting one another. We need to get off of our king and queen mentality just for a moment and lift one another up. Even if you don't like the other person's business you should support it. Just like when a kid is selling candy. I don't buy because I want the candy, I buy to support the cause. Sometime I give the candy back to them cause I don't need it! It is time for a change.

  • i hear you sister and your so right time to give to get i was so a shamed after looking in my bathroom and none of my hair care is from black owners :( that has got to change.

  • Yeah im going to Own my black hair care store..... And run those asians out of business in my town!! Then they follow you like hawks because they think you are stealing

  • or any other black hair vendor-I heard Halley's Curls and Hair Sisters are a black owned businesses. These kind of efforts would save us money and demonstarte the power we have.

  • @JustasIam147 I don't think Hair Sister's is a black owned business. At least I hope they aren't. Their business practice seems to be taking everyone's money and ignoring you when you want what you ordered. I had to threaten to report them to BBB to get my money back. I haven't done business with them since. Halley's Curls is black owned though (thanks for informing me so I could research). I will have to check them out for sure now. xxtheislandbeautyxx is always shouting them out.

  • I saw the documentary a couple years ago and I remember the part about them refusing to sell authentic Kizure items and pushing those cheap imitation irons, but Kizure you can order online and they are right in L.A.I think what we can do is start buying clubs where people group their money together and buy in bulk directly from vendors on staple items and if there are enough of you placing an order you probably can get a group discount from a black biz like Hairsisters or some other

  • Hi MissMikko100 I am all over this the topic really strikes a nerve with me. Can you explain this law that says the hair and/or products can not be imported?

  • @JustasIam147 PLEASE WATCH Aron Ranens BLACK HAIR DOCUMENTARIES...1~4!!!! It is an EXCELLENT source of INFORMATION...regarding WHY we cannot IMPORT OUR OWN HAIR!!!!! WE have to BUY it from those that are APPROVED through the GOVERNMENT!!!! SERIOUSLY...it struck MY NERVES...and I THINK WE OUGHT TO STAND UP and FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS!!!!

  • Or do they follow you around, scan you with their eyes and/or physically follow you? If you ask for a product behind the counter do they get it for you right away or do you have to ask them to hand it to you so you can read the package? I am so sick of these leeches coming into our communites and leaving with our money and treating us with disrespect.

  • Its time for black women to have some respect for ourselves and only spend MONEY-those green bills you work extremely hard for-and make the people who want our MONEY to treat us right. Its time to spend your money with your own kind, build up our community-those other people they don't know us they don't love us they just want your MONEY.Does your local beauty supply do things for your community.Does your local beauty supply hire anyone from your community?

  • what is the next step i should take when ive worn sew ins for a year and a stylist i went to put in a virgin perm nd it instantly burned leaving sores on my head my hair is in middle of my back nd very thick

  • I know thats right lady....I totally support you in this !!!! We as a ppl, can make a change..Doll

  • I'll invest in my black hair business when I walk through the door and I am greeted with a smile. Black people need to act like our business is important to them. Other then that, I'll spend where I feel comfortable until we do bettter.

  • @beautiful4days This is not a hostile statement, but let me ask you this. How many times have you entered an asian "black beauty supply" and been followed or not greeted with a smile. I try to avoid these beauty supplies whenever I can because time after time I enter the store and they follwoing you or all of a sudden they are doing inventory and are counting right next to "you" and once you leave they are doing "inventory" wherever you go next.

  • @JustasIam147 LOL @ Your comment about the inventory. So true. lol. I don't frequent those places either. I used to support our people but always left disgusted with their attitudes and God help me if I have a problem with the product! . It's sad that other races are taking over the one industry that is so important to us as a community. I believe in customer service. We have to understand that it's more then just selling. Nasty attitudes don't work.

  • @beautiful4days I agree totally...but..if you look at WHY majority of the small business have these attitudes...IMPROPER STAFF...NO TRAINING...ETC> the BOTTOM LINE is MONEY...WALMART HAS MILLIONS of DOLLARS to FIRE UNPROFESSIONALS...and a LINE of FOLK waiting to WORK for a MILLION DOLLAR COMPANY 4 MIN WAGE. WE do not have the CAPITAL...or the SUPPORT...so we will SHOOT out there with our DREAMS...and HIRE FAMILY, COUSINS, HYPES...etc...and still WATCH MONEY PASS OVER US.

  • Yall know any black companies that sell pure unrefined shea butter???

  • Post post the link because I have been taking somewhere else 2 times!

  • Hi MSMIKKO, Im currently trying to start my own business. Im a Cosmetologist/Nail Artist (Im more into nails). I will say it has been difficult! Whn I pass out my cards or tell ppl I do nails, they are shocked! Then I show them my work and began to speak with them on how to take care of their own nails and it's a different tune! I have noticed, my own people don't want to pay me(want a hook up), but will pay the others. And, I do give the best hook up(the truth about their nails and services)

  • This is so true :). I new store just opened up here in FTW, TX that I noticed it owned by 2 Spanish ladies!!! I asked them if there will be any black women working there. She said yes. But the point it it's owned by them :((. Let's take it back.

  • Sooo true..... Hey what's that page on FaceBook??

  • @ednadadesigner The BEAUTY INDUSTRY TAKEOVER..THANK YOU!!!!

  • Sooo true.....

  • Ladies, embarrass your beauty supply stores by asking if they're a member of BOBSA!

  • @HealthyHairByLady HAHAHA. Good one. I think I embarassed a lady today when I asked her if their will be any black women working there because I see alot of black hair products lol. Too funny.

  • @HealthyHairByLady That will surely embarass them and it really is a shame.

  • the community has a monopoly, and we have nowhere else to go. I have been natural before, and I still bought products. They are starting to put hair weave shops down the street from schools, because young girls love the weave. Liquor stores, churches, and hair stores are squeezing the wallets . I can't understand how we lost power over our own hair, and the products we buy. People do need to cut back on the weave, because it is not as important as shampoo, and conditioner.

  • continue..I have bought weave on small occasions, but only once or twice. (weave make my face itch ) I think we spend too much money in general, but we waited too late to start supporting each other. We can't even import hot combs, but I do buy black own. Dudley need to come down on the price. LMAO ! Great video.

  • @MarquitaD111 ik rite they are hi i was asking my mommy to get me this lip gloss she once got for me it's awesome!!! and she told me no lol cz they s&h is like ten bucks and lip gloss is only 10 lol so *sighhs* =(

  • @MarquitaD111 What you can do is order online/direct from the vendor. I know you can not do this with all products but you can do this with some.

  • @JustasIam147 , I like ordering online,because I get more discounts.

  • Take it back by using less chemical.

Take it back by using less product.

Take it back by going natural and that won't make money on all that chemical.

    (That's how am taking back)

  • Hey Mikko! Great Vid! You should post the facebook link in the description box!

  • Funny I was checking yesterday with friends of any black owned stores that sell kinky hair in the UK and have only 1 recommendation, previous stores are now taken over.

All the best encouraging others we need to keep it up

  • I've already started!

  • @BelTriniCurls THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for your CONTINOUS SUPPORT!!!! LOVE YOU!!!!

  • @MSMIKKO100

    love you too!
