Got it for Saturn as an original but never accomplished it. It was just too heavy and frustrating. I hate this aspect of most shooters. Perhaps I am not that pro gamer type tho...

Finally. I recently found out that Lightening Force, was a rename of the Thunderforce 4. Good memories when I was 7 years old.

I never referred to it by that name (Americanization again ruining a great title.) It's either Thunder Force IV or nothing at all.

Yeah I remember this game, it was one of mi first PSX games... Guardian's Knight is my favorite boss in the Cybercave level ^_^

I got the Playstation version, and me and my friend start playing... he don't know the controls, so I thumb through the booklet, and find that back in '96 or '97 there was a $10,000 contest for this. That, was badass.

Master Mode, that is a badass difficulty.

SHIT! I have TF4 on my megadrive and I heard they were doing another but never saw it...wicked. Where can i get a copy of this and what formats was it released on? As its quite old would it only be available on emulation? Any help would be most appreciated. I also want TF3 for my megadrive too. Nice vid!

I picked up the PSX version a couple weeks ago, and I love it. Probably one of the best Shmups I've played so far. The stages are awesome, the music is incredibly badass (Rising Blue Lightning = FTW) and the challenge just felt RIGHT. It never felt cheap and truly felt like something you can get better at with practice. I hope they consider releasing a collection with all 5 games.
