  • I don't know what it was like in the UK in 89, I was in the LA warehouses in 89, if it was anything like LA, great people, wide variety, no fights or violence, $20 and free beer till it ran out. Great times. Got to see Adamski a couple times in LA, very memorable.

  • CAN I HAVE WHAT THE DUDE @3:41 HAD WITH A SIDE OF SECONDS LOL!!

  • @Visitor189 sankeys in manchester has hacienda tribute nights that paly only acid house and trance fro the mid 80's to the late 90's fucking amazing!

  • Just reminded me of a so called rave in the sticks in Devon,I drove me and my mate around trying to find it. A farm yard with a halogen light on, a sound system with an Easy Groove tape on in an open barn and nothing else. We drove off and saw various other inquisitive peoples but what a sham from a farmer boy.

  • I was 23/24 in 1988/89 great times - tapes of the pirates/Deep Heat compilations on the car stereo on the way to the parties they were the day.1988 was better but the parties didn't tend to be outside then which was good in some ways as 1989 had better weather! I'm 46 now but still got the memories...

  • @LondonAcidHouse1988

Me and you both, mate. All we can do now is sit at the laptop and tap our feet... anything else is 'dancing dad' syndrome. LOL... it's shite getting old. Still, every now and then I neck a load of shrooms and sit at the PC playing videos like this. And you're right, they can never take our memories (we did a good enough job of that ourselves with the little white pills) :)

  • @KingWi11 So lame. At least my guy tests his with kits, but not everyone out there is so honest or knowledgeable about chemicals.

  • dude at 0. 45 is jokes !!

  • 3:38 what are those 2 black guys up to lol

  • soundcloud ablekid ableton-live-old-school-aahz

  • I agree with Gazza' second statement but definitely not his first. I was fortunate enough to live near Orlando for the Aahz nights with Kimball Collins & Co. from '90 to late 93, every weekend. There was no this or that style and anybody who liked electronic music went. Everybody was all about the music and the love. It's too divided these days (genre-wise). Bring back the Old School sound any day.......and I do :-)

  • everything has changed about raving now.

    The music

    The drugs

    The clothes

    The dancing.

BUT ITS ALL THE SAME. PEOPLE JUST WANTING TO HAVE A FUCKING GOOD TIME!

  • what are the songs in this vid?

  • If only I could go back in time

  • Wow i was at this rave, saw at least 3 people in this video, including the gut in stripped T at the beginning.

    Best times ever!!!

  • The lovely hunny at 3:10 oh ma gawwwd. I bet she eats whatever she wants and is that fit cause she dances 5 times a week. I wish everyone did that these days

  • is that salomon kalou of chelsea busting moves out at the beginning ;)

  • @barnzy15690 No its Shaun Wright Philips and that bird from Absolutely Fabulous

  • fuck the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994...

  • Song name?

  • spiritual healing

  • I wish I was 18 then. I wish I lived in that time. Those parties look fking awesome, I could go on ALL NIGHT.

  • And this rtack i was dancing on The Hit man and Her shows with Jason Orange just before Take That, those were the day,the new school hasnt any idea how to enjoy themselves like we used to,sad aye

  • THANX GOD FOR THIS SOUND

  • Holy fuck, they went HARD

  • so if eney wone knows inbox me it plz

  • dus eney one know wot the song is caled that is playing in the vido 3min in because i want to down load it

  • Does anyone know the titles of the music used in this clip? Tnx

  • uk rave had the worst music and shit party's you had to go to tresor berlin and amsterdam for the real deal. what the fuck is this shit music being played on this video fuckin horrible shit.

  • @guitaneman Get out man...90s rave scene was fucking awesome. Its the music, the peeps and the atmosphere.

  • @VitC4Cumdwns check out the producers who invented techno kraftwerk then you have the first real techno music ever made from detroit made by derrik may / jaun atkins then jeff mills ect ect but the music from the uk rave just was just a bad copy of what was happening in europe and america. berlin and detroit invented the music the uk tried to ruin techno with the ministry of sound that was everywhere around 2000

i just cant respect any techno/rave that comes out of the uk

  • @guitaneman I understand what your saying bud and I know the history to a lot of music but when you reference ministry of sound (which i have to agree is shit)...then thats where youve gone wrong. Krome & Time, Children of the 90s, leftfield etc is where its at. Im must agree though the scene in Europe was and IS amazing but still I very much love the UK rave scene of the 90s..and always will

  • @guitaneman That's a bizarre statement - House & Garage or Techno was always a small scene in the United States (Germany? Hardly on the radar - Kraftwerk experimented heavily with synths); it became massively successful in the UK. 'Raves' were 'invented' in the UK - American House Dj's tried to replicate them with their 'Storm Raves'. I don't get what you mean by 'imitating' either - to be honest, I think you're just trolling and spurting abuse.

  • @CharlesDilkes Yup The rave scene in North America was quite small at this time, and House was played in Warehouse parties & clubs. When raves started in Canada Ont., it was based on England. The early rave promoters here in Canada were often from the UK or had travelled to the UK and saw what was going on, proceeded to do events in Canada on those experiences.

I think some of the underground events in New York may have exceeded 10,000 but I don't know what year this happened.

  • @guitaneman Fucking ministry of sound!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha you aint got a clue mate. You talking about pop music not rave music Every country had their thing going on, fairplay to all. Your negative vibes are no part of it! Ministry of sound thats brilliant!

  • @guitaneman Errrr, it's predominantly Chicago House? I think you're clueless about the history of this music. Around about this time the Dutch were experimenting & playing out half beat house (House music slowed down because the Dutch thought it was too fast) - they called that New Beat; ironically, the British sped it up because it was too slow - that was the basis of the 'rave' sound along with techno, before the British started layering breakbeats over it (like Shut Up & Dance)

  • @CharlesDilkes Charles is correct. All of the music at these early raves was House. A lot of it was Chicago House simply because that's where a large volume of output was coming from in 1987-1988. The UK also started releasing House in 1988, possibly even 1987 but i'm not sure. Techno was almost non-existent at this time.

  • @guitaneman shutup, you jointlovering gabberhead

  • @AceDubsteP hey your right the basterds stole my youth i could have been studying medicine not taking it could have been a doctor by now. so dont listen to rave music or go on youtube get a education and be the next primeminister and be a fuckin square..

seriously i went to gabber raves have you ever seen rotterdam terror corps the music is shit but the dancers where very good. i must have been drunk when i made my last comments LOL but tresor berlin is true techno not cheesy rave

  • @guitaneman nah uk rave ftw

  • Around 3:20 ish the dude on the right was like yah im getting away from this guy, i dont like where he's heading lol

  • the girl dancin after 2:44 I absolutely love the freenes and lightness of it, I also suffer post rave deppression when I see vid like this :-) . Lets be glad we had been part of it, seem we were more than fuckin lucky :) I was just a subculture next by, Spiral tribe and stuff, maybe you know

  • Gwarn class of 80's u smashed it and broke down many doors !

  • Damn raves looked hella fun back then, pills must of been hella clean too! Too bad I was born on this vids year of 1989...

  • oh how different the illegal rave scene is now. ketamine, mephedrone and stabbings

  • @lyfluyhgjfty I think people must be going to the wrong raves.... ive been too a fair few with a beautiful atmosphere and really nice poeple

  • @sambadoynum Yeah there are still good illegal raves every now n then round Norfolk/Suffolk way where i live but its nothing like the old days of 2004-2008 when i used to go every weekend, nothing but happy faces no trouble whatsoever, if you dropped your wallet someone would pick it up n give it back but that would never happen now, too many chavvys gettin on the scene. Brains Kan, Slack Banta, Exodus, Shazam. Bring back the old rigs

  • @lyfluyhgjfty Can only agree they are a lost breed now dont know how to dance no sence of dress, and loosers

  • @sambadoynum really where

  • @citroeno All over london, psy parties. not hard to find at the end of the day :P

  • It looks amazing, just wish I was old enough to have been able to go

  • Being fortunate enough to have attended quite a few warehouse raves at the time and looking back, what I don't think will ever be the same again is how many people of so many different cultures and outlooks on life just rocked up and danced the night out .. no attitude, no fights & little grief.. just lots and lots of like minded people getting it together to jam their arses off to some mental mental tunes. Thanks for the memories mr OP. Happy, happy days. Peace.

  • @GazzaTrax couldnt have put it better myself,im off to q club on sat for flashback, bring it on

  • @GazzaTrax Because they were all off their faces - people romanticise this era so much - as if there was no violence or thuggery.

The difference then to now is that there was a single type of electronic music which everyone enjoyed, and all of whom went to the same type of events. Modern electronic music is heavily generalised amongst diverse genres.

  • watch?v=iRN5u8B2R1o house music i made

  • Top 5 destination whit time-travel machine .......hahahah 3:38 hahahhahaha :)))))

  • GODDAMN IT, WHY CAN'T RAVES BE LIKE THIS TODAY?!!!!! HELL TO THE FUCKING YEAH, THIS IS WHAT I CALL REAL FUCKING PAR-TAAAAAAAAY!!!!! WHY, LORD, DID I HAVE BE BORN IN '88????? WHY, OH WHY????

  • @rostromojado lol idk, berlin has some pretty sick raves :)

  • @rostromojado They can be like this you just have to do drugs....

  • @rostromojado Move to europe.

  • @rostromojado The raves today are much larger than this. They just don't happen in every region. However, I predict a big resurgence in the massives in the coming years. Most governments may slowly open up as the old guard starts dying off from cancer or heart attacks.

  • I remember flying at these do's getting lost in the fog and strobes, and shit loads of people just hugging you and inviting back to some strangers house after.

  • @darcygabor great days,great music,great buzzz.....

  • Who cares how someone dances? Does it even matter? No!.

"He who danceth not, knoweth not life!" (Old Testament)

  • born in the wrong era :(

  • nice flamenco vibe, love that!

  • 2:10 what a baaad transition ^^

  • The track at 6:00 is like cream :)

  • what amazing years of music we had in the 89 when we had the hot summer of 89 and the tory party was in power and the rich people was get well rich poor because tory power and the work case people was get so poor there was to much of commercial pop like jason and kilye in the chart at the time then a underground scene thing call acid house where load of people would goto and dance all night to this amaazing tune thank you to bring all amazing tune we had in the 89

  • @drdaze1968 yeah you're right....remember the 1st time acid house came to Switzerland in September 1988, every saturday party somewhere else...:o) - would like if these times came back...Summer 89 I was in Benidorm / Spain with all this sound....absolutely amazing...

  • wow just wow, wish I was 18 then instead of now

  • Haha! Couldn't agree more!

  • @MrNikoBellEnd I feel your pain

  • @djbazia all we have now is them fucking dubstep raves, don't get wrong had a blinder of a night but it's NOTHING compared to this, not even a spec

  • @MrNikoBellEnd Dont think anything will ever compare to this, even Dubsteps gone sour, back in 2004-2006 was big, now its pretty dead, just like what happened with the hardcore rave scene, and pretty much every type of music when you think about it

  • @MrNikoBellEnd Not in North America. The biggest raves are still House.

  • proper music from when it all began ive been spinning now 17 years and still love this stuff takes me back to the happy days pure music

  • @lemmonlicker Come on, the music sounds well dated nowadays, there's a dew gems but most it sounds painfully out of date - there's much better house being produced.

  • @MrNikoBellEnd If its off any help i wish I was 18 then instead of 39 now!

  • WHAT ARE THESE SONGS CALLED?!?!?

  • Comment removed

  • yes drugs certainly were better back in the day!

  • nowdays we have a lot of legal parties, but you just can't rave like old good times...

  • That's why when i rave now... i say fuck shuffling. I like to pop, lock, groove, step, house, jack my self every where. People always ask me if im selling acid lol.

  • Strong vibe....Seeing all the cars in the background, loking back, it's a miracle people got home with all the multi-sensory mis-perception hoing on in their grey matter...seeing the road clearly must have been a mission.

Love the little James Brown move at 0:32

  • If you dance this way today, everybody will laugh at you. But this is/was real dancing... not what people are dancing to this commercial pop and dance music.

  • what's the name of the first tune? soo good!

  • @mymummy12321 the real wild house by raul orellana,u got great taste :)

  • @grahamb1234 i get told that a lot ;) haha. thanks matey.

  • anyone know the name of the hip house tune at 7:00 in the video please?//

  • I am to young to have experienced raves like this. When I was 17 that's about when they were on the decline. Now here I am years later seeing shit like this and hearing the old schoolers complaining and I'm discouraged that I will never see a scene this pure in my lifetime.

  • @drakeltheryuujin False. The rave scene of today is WAY larger and better than when I was raving (early 90's). The sound systems are better. The crowds are bigger, and the girls look better. This event in this video is miniscule compared to the events of today.

  • @PleasureForceRaver That's because they are mostly mainstream garbage. The girls are slutty young chicks in bikinis and shitty fuzzy attire. The scene seems to be filled with kids who don't know how to handle their drug intake. The raves of today that I've been to are largely disappointing. I would kill to hear a variety of genres outside of hardstyle, dubstep, and electro house. I'll just stick to burner parties, thanks.

  • im only 27 missed this by 10yrs just over looks nothin betta than that place

  • Comment removed

  • if you dance nowadays like this.....that means you are on drugs :P....very cool dance and live your life like you want to live ;D

  • @sipi1994 as long as it makes fun it should be wayne how you dance.

  • @Fantasy5001

    you are right ;D....

  • @sipi1994 :)

  • whats tune at 4.05

  • Not one person cared about how you looked when you danced. You bumped into someone accidentally and it was, omg, sorry. Where you from? No attitudes, we just wanted to dance the night away. Didn't cause any trouble. Best feeling in the world. And I'm proud to say I was there!

  • @MWingy1 I second that... it was great

  • Who is the hot girl at 2.48 lol?

  • that looks sooo fun

  • BIG UPS TO ALL YOU MODERN DAY RAVERS, MAD LOVE X

  • i just want it all back we should have a night were its 20 to get in and you get 3 oldschool pils aswel

  • This is where it was at. Love to go back and do it all again , the whole rave scene was fucking mental .......

  • @LifeeeeeHD IT was still mental in the 90's, and remains mental to this day.

Things have just... changed. that's all

  • do u know wot the song is cauld in 3min in the vido and want to down load it so if u know wot it is i would be grate fuall

  • Can any 1 tell me what the hip house track is coming in at 6;41?? been doing my head in for years??!!

  • @futurecat71 The track is Home Boys Only - Turn it out

  • @futurecat71 : Home Boys Only - Turn It Out (Hip House Extended Version)

  • i respect the old rave days and these videos are awesome and these raves look so much fun. but i bet none of have gone to a new school event so why are assuming they suck or there not as good it looks were having just as much fun as you guys were. maybe even more. and the love peace and togetherness is still tthere. a lot has changed, but the core values and vibes remain the same.

  • @djgoomba290 None of these people have probably gone to current events. They are probably old with a mortgage and kids and can't go out anymore because their wife won't let them. The events today are far superior to what I was going to. The sound systems WERE SHIT back then. Muffled ass bass, and idiot MCs yelling over the records.

  • Big up Tony couslton-hayter the owner of SUNRISE!!!!!

  • nice music.

  • IN THOSE YEARS WERE A LOT OF EXTASYS, THE BEST EXTASYS. NOWADAY THERE AREN´T GOOD EXTASYS. MDMA IS NOT THE SAME AS THOSE PILLS

  • in those years was more motivated people with more desire to party

  • Haha, today we have Zumba events...

  • ha, I agree - no fat bods at all - we skinny people, love to ya, x

  • What is the name of the tune near the end of the vid just before you see the cars on fire???

  • It's not fair! You guys had this kind of rave in 1989 ....now look at what we have in 2011. /watch?v=G3a9i7mi5K4

  • 0.24.Michael?
