Intrepids aint slow. Their not the fastest thing around, but they do allright for what they are. Theres a reason why Carrol Shelby used the 3.3L in his Trans-Am racers. The only difference was his 3.3's had a better flowing intake manifold, and headers. Bigger throttle body and such. Other than that it's the same motor that's in my 93' first gen intrepid.

Did you know the 2004 altima i4 engine had plastic head gaskets which resulted in useless motors a repair over 5000$ to repair? They are not the same cars, nissans cost a lot more thus they should be better and yet they still have their own issues. I dont plan on owning a car over 100k, its old and out of date by that time. The maxima is a good 10-15k$ over the sebring.

Well I have a 95 Max with 151K and the engine runs like it did the day it was bought. I can beat many "not out of date" cars with my car. So I would say the Maxima is more expensive for a reason.
