if Anne Boleyn had thought only with her heart she wouldn't have become queen. she would've been another "great prostitute", just another of the king's mistress just like mary. her heart isn't what kept her out the kings bed for 6 years, her heart isn't what earned her the crown, her heart isnt what got her the throne and the break from the Catholic church. Her head did. and what a magnificent head it was til Henry decided he had no further use of it and cut it off.

Can't stand the Elizabeth I reference. So wrong! Elizabeth's quote on never marrying a man had more to do with Katheryn Howard, not her mother. Not only that, Anne didn't actually love Henry VIII, he was the King, she wanted to be Queen.

Obviously you don't know you're history very well. Katherine Howard was Anne Boleyn's cousin and she wasn't in love with Henry. She was a silly girl who wanted to be placated with jewels and nice things. She was also used by her uncle to gain favor for the family, but she didn't love Henry. Otherwise she wouldn't have cheated on him with Thomas Culpepper. Anne DID want to become queen, but she DID ALSO grow to love Henry. Why do you think she tried so hard to please him later on?

I wasn't saying Katheryn Howard was in love with Henry, I was saying that when Elizabeth told Robert Dudley that she would never married, it had to with Katheryn and Henry, not her mother and Henry. Anne's supposed love for Henry is only mere speculation on romantic historians, Anne's desperate want to please Henry may have had more to do with his insanity and tyranny. Who wouldn't be afraid of Henry's wrath? He had COA shunned and basically imprisoned and she was an Infanta of Spain!

Also, Elizabeth may have never had a REAL King, but Robert Dudley basically walked around as King. He had high political power despite being the brother, son, and grandson of traitors to English monarchs. He was King in all but name, he had the power, the favour, and the Queen. I don't agree with that. She was young and leaned alot on her "advisers" at first, but she abandoned all of that when she got rid of Dudley. That's when she started to use her head and decided never to marry. The only man close to her heart then was her trusted advisor Cecil.

Correct, she didn't want that scandal, however, Dudley still walked around with large amounts of power after that, he just wasn't a suitable suitor. But if she had really been dedicated to her country, she would have married to produce an heir. She let her love for Dudley stop her from the doing the smart thing for her country.

I have a BIG problem with the history reference Blair made. Although I love this scene, what she said was waayyyy off the mark in my opinion. Anne didn't marry for love, she did it because she was too proud not to give up her ambition of becoming Queen. She loved Henry Percy, but her twit of an uncle forbid her of marrying him, so she decided to make everyone else miserable with her in her quest to become royalty.

Yeah, she loved Percy at first, but she eventually fell in love with Henry too. It wasn't just all about her ambition to become queen. She eventually became so consumed with trying to keep Henry happy that it killed her.
