Assembling Starmax RC F-16 90mm Jet

Had my own experience with Banana Hobby..planes and a 1:12 scale tank...both look great, but electronics are crap. They will want you to ship it back at your cost (way exceeding the value of the model), then pay again for shipping a replacement, which they wont do anyway. Check forums! Pay now, get a bad egg 3 weeks later, then fight with them for month..and still havent received a working model which I paid for after 2 years!

Thumbs up!! You are a very brave man putting an EDF jet together with that glue :-) Is it that single tube stuff you find in the box? I would have sleepless nights, but if it works..all good :-). As for Banana Hobby...stay well clear of them...especially complex things like these jets with a lot of very cheap electronics and servos, with a very high rate of DOA. With Banana hobby, as soon as you have paid, you are on your own, no customer service.

@vizzuleyes thanks for your comment and advise. but it did fly well for many flights without anything flying off. Guess you lost your bets big time then. I have build Alpha 90 the same way, never one single thing flew off my pet peeve even after 35 flights. Alpha crashed due to radio glitch cuz I put in a receiver that did not match the 6S power supply and burned. But again you do what you Like n I will follow my own methods that really work. Do not like my reviews. watch other channels.

i think by adding too much glue..up to the piont where its ozzing out and showing is not a good idea since its just adding drag to ur plane..and tape also..but thats what i think

@flyr602 this plane is very tail heavy on stock setup. move the battery to front and add some weight to the nose. I forgot where was the CG :(

@AcuraLegend1994 contact Starmax directly but for now, I will say please wait, as we are still experimenting with Power system to find out what suits this bird well. Our initial flight testing went very well, we still have to experiment with a new ESC and motor and once power system is decided and stabilizes for this plane, you can order this one. However if you wanna put in a scorpion motor and esc, this bird will rock in the sky.

Ali, I am surprised you are not using epoxy to glue all the joints. Have you had good luck with the glue you are using?

@lay3Rv2 epoxy eats the foam, this is quick dry glue, not that quick though, takes an hour or so but when it dries, its solid. we had a maiden flight that went very well. Why I did not put video up is just because we are testing electronics and power system now, once all is set, I will post the flight videos. Might post the teaser though :) big baby just screamed in the sky beautifully :P

@bloodhound122 yup thats what I like about it. The easy access to all electronics and specially to EDF System. Most of the EDF Jets do not have easy access to EDF system and its a pain to replace motor or broken fan. but this one was easy to assemble yet everything is easy accessible.

This thing has leading edge slats in addition to flaps... I'm really curious to see how slow this thing can fly for a landing!

@thechoosendude Me too my man. First time to fly a big 90mm with slats. I have flown planes and EDFs with Flaps and air brakes but not with slats. Let us see how this bird will behave with those slats and flaps deployed :)
