Sucks that I was only 6 when this album came out, it's one of my favourites now but there's nothing like being able to experience things like this in their time.
most if not all under 35 wont relate to it , cause they are in the second throws of youth, but how true are JDB words from 3:49 to 5:08.... re identity...god human's brains take ages to be "adult" ie circa 18 but what he says here is so true re the next stage of identity in the young, or as he says relative youth, then that disappears too. thanks JDB wonderful summation of that next stage to getting old
well i can relate to it, im 20 years old. probably because i have many similarities as richey, same disorders etc.
i play guitar but just cant find like minded people though so i see what you mean. hopefully though ill be able to put my lyrics out there. just want to finish my book first
The Holy Bible gave me a better history lesson than I ever got at school. The fact that the lyrics and music are so good makes it better. My favourite album of all time.
James seems like such a nice and honest guy in interviews. I think a lot of people need to listen to what he says at the end before criticizing bands like the Manics for becoming more conventional or "selling out" or w/e over the years. The Holy Bible era was their best undoubtedly but they maintained a creative progression after Richey left knowing they couldn't do exactly the same stuff and never trying to be who they're not.
Long live the Manics and God bless Richey wherever he may be

@gnrboy I know what you mean, I wasn't quite one when this was released, but now it's become an amazingly important album to me.

I wish I were old enough in 1994 to remember and truly appreciate the era and social impact at the time of the holy bible.
Not that I don't know, but I can't help but feel like a freud (maybe that's not quite how I should describe it) compared to all the fans who were.
Also, I wish I could have been there when Richey was... :(

Thanks for uploading the four parts to this interview. It was very good watching it. JDB offered a beautiful summary of ageing at the end.
The Holy Bible is one of the most expressive albums of all time.

bloody hell, james dean bradfield smokes?! i'm sure i could see smoke rising from below screen at some points in that interview.
unless he suffers from a mild case of spontaneous combustion, and they weren't kidding in the video for the everlasting.
