a really good player.but i get scared every time i watch a clip that shows how close he is to rip the arm of an opponent.this time landry could have been the victim
I believe he gets rebounds due to exceptional positioning, incredible spatial awareness, desire, and an ass that would make Beyonce proud. But obviously height means something, cuz long dudes like Gasol can shoot right over him. But then again, Gasol can shoot over Duncan almost as easily, so it's a moot point. Long dudes like Mahinmi are way better at getting blocks than Blair though.
lol dude averages like 15 rebounds in 8 minutes doesnt help hes like 6'7 with a wingspan of like 7'2 the kings picked john brockman instead of him...brockmon is just a good hustler
he rebounds like crazy! how could teams let this talent fall to the 2nd round?! oh and u know hes a good player David 'The Admiral' Robinson mentioned Blair TWICE during his tribute tonight! wow
saw him play in pitt couple times...dude is the beast of the east...couldnt believe he dropped to the second round, what a steal for the spurs..not a spurs fan but def. will watch him, hope he has a great career...
I truly think that 5 years from now.....DJB will be the guy that every team will wish they had a mulligan on. He rebounds like Ben Wallace but with a frame like Elton Brand. He will match well with Artest, and has the ability to really give Pau problems. While LA is the fav to win it all, the spurs have the best shot at beating them. I can see DJB being a key part to my spurs title run this year. Well him and Manu anyways. Time will tell.
mad respect for the spurs and rockets franchises who just have a nose for picking up quality players any way they can. a healthy spurs team is the odds on favorite for me this year. big question is, can they stay reasonably healthy? blazers are my sentimental pick but the chemistry seems off in the preseason.
this team looks downright scary. most people know dejuan blair was a steal, but i dont think anybody expected him to be an impact player, or regular rotation player this year, but i guess he will be. i know its just preseason but he hasnt had 1 bad game. if duncan/mcdyess are the starters, the spurs have good backup big men in blair, and theo ratliff. they also have matt bonner just in case. i dont think mahinmi will be in the rotation, but i dont think they need him.
This Is Going to Be a Great Year for the Spurs.. They Have Added Young Athletic Talent to Their Older Skilled & Disciplined Roster.. With the Genius of Popavich; They Will Go to the Finals.. They Will Be the Celtics of the West.. w/ Blair Being a Stronger More Athletic Glenn Davis..
The Spurs are Re-Tooled & Re-Loaded, For This Season.. If They Can Stay Healthy and Gain a Chemistry They Will Go to the Finals.. Blair Would Good at PF/SF If He Gets a Skill Set.. Look For a Spurs vs Lakers & Cavs vs. Celtics Final 4 This Year w/ Spurs vs. Cavs Finals.. Trust
i think he could definatley be a very solid 10/10 player and being part of san antonio there is no doubt hes going to get the right guidance and coaching
He has the soft hands and quick feet to develop some reliable go-to moves around the paint and build an offensive game like Elton Brand. His defensive positioning and anticipation need some work, but man oh man, is he a rebounder. I think his relative lack of height may really benefit him on most nights - his low center of gravity allows him to get underneath bigger guys and get them off balance. Then when the ball goes off the rim, he springs upwards and uses that 7-2 wingspan to go get it.
He Will Be a Charles Barkley Style Rebounder (Physically).. Now If He Could Learn to Be a Dennis Rodman Sylye Rebounder (Mentally).. He Will Be a Centerpiece of the Franchise For Years to Come.. My Only Concern Is That He Takes Care of His Legs (Knees).. Rodman Used Brains Over Brawn When Rebounding..

Blair's a damn pimp. He absolutely destroyed Nene and Byrdman last night. He proves height isn't everything, being only as tall as Manu.:P
Bonner, who is 6'10", also proves my point.
Manufan9090 1 year ago
@Manufan9090 Blair has a 7 foot 2 wingspan so height is irrelevant, as you dont get rebounds or block shots with ur head, you do it with ur arms
