@xcanasianx if you make it hard. if your wrist isn't very sturdy you may want to start on something smaller. i started on a kdx 200 and a yz250f. little less power than these. went to a yz 250. so much more power. thing is if you can't control your wrist too well these things are hard to tame from the get go. cause a bump can rip the throttle a bit and throw you off. but if you rode before you'd be good to go. if you are just starting i'd recommend a yz 125. or another brand with a 125.

I do ride street I have an 07 gsxr 600 so idk if that would help at all also im 19. @kawininja91 Dirtbikes vs. street bikes are a completely different story. Yes they both have 2 wheels and a motor... The scenario between a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke are also completely different though. If you get a yz250 as a first bike theres a chance that it MIGHT scare you a little but hey, dont let the bike ride you. If you buy a 2 stroke 250 just make sure your not boggin down. You gotta ride the piss out of it and keep it at high rpms! hope this helped a bit

@kawininja91 Just be careful, their a lot of fun, but a lot of power to someone whose brand new to dirt.. Much less weight than your street bike. Their a great trail bike. thats what i use! I actually just sold mine though. So, now I have a 1991 rm 125 which is great for trails too. My step dad still has his yz250 though! both run great!

@ijoshie88 I raced Yamaha from 1992 to 1997 then switched to Kawi KX250 in 1998....I prefer the KX250 over the YZ...I have not ridden a newer YZ though......I liked the pro circuit pipe and a 10 ounze fly wheel on the KX......Left the air filter stock and reeds stock, just added a little on the main jet....I am no longer able to ride, last race I ran was in 2003....A 2 stroke is much cheaper to operate....A 4 stroke is easier to ride....
