a restaurant like that would have a policy of an automatic 18 or 20% gratuity on large parties. obviously they'd waive that sort of policy for a group of regulars like these guys, under the assumption that they'd reward a waiter for good work with a more generous tip.

long story short, christopher's a scumbag for punishing the waiter because he didn't have enough money to take the crew out for dinner. not to spoil the show for anyone who hasn't watched, but bad things happen to bad tippers
