  • Burt Ward won the audition to play the lead in "The Graduate," but Greenway Porductions would not allow him out of his contract to do it, claiming the role was too risque for an actor so closely tied to playing an all-American boy like Robin. That's why the part went to Burt's understudy: Dustin Hoffman.
