  • You are right every style has it's own category.

  • @ChadC919 I was thinking the same.

  • why is it that every tai chi video has mma discussion in it? Does tai chi have that bad self esteem? Keep open mind people. I'm doing both, mma and tai chi. now your head explodes and mind blows. IMPOSSIBLE TO DO BOTH or something...

  • wow this is some incredible stuff

  • Is it me or does he talk like Bruce Lee?

  • WHAT A SWEET TRAINING FOR THE GUY IN BLACK.

  • I have been looking on the shop_website for GUF_1 & GUF_2.

Because I have purchased Tai Chi Combat 1 & 2 Tai Chi Chin Na and they are very good.

    HOWEVER

I did not find GUF_1 and GUF_2 for sale.

    How can I get those?

    Best regards

    silk

  • I like the term, "fight the way you train." In essence, that's it in a nutshell. So the training is what is important. Train to be a athlete and that's what you get. Train to fight in "real life" and that's what you get. Conclusion, get a teacher that deals with real life.

  • I saw a great documentary called, i think, "human weapon". It's got an mma champion and a footballer/wrestler learning different martial arts. When they went to Israel to learn Krav Maga, it was obvious how futile the mma fighter's training was - in that mma is a ring sport, whereas Krav Maga is a true martial art for battlefield application. If you dilute any martial art down with rules then you're bound to lose some effectiveness

  • what i've notice about mma is that they just learn thing from different arts but never have a strong foundation of anything. knowing different arts is fine. but master one art so you can adapt better in other art and get a better understanding.

  • What I wanna see is not mr Wong in MMA but other MMA guys in ruleless bout. MMA is rather infant when it comes to real fighting. No matter what they say. You say you can eyegauge but don't do it? I say I can 1punch tyson, but I won't do it. Seriously. MMA is so bloody overrated, and in time you all shall see that. When it comes to real fighting, MMA fighters are going to break their fists on other ppl skulls because they have no skill in gloveless combat. In ring, under rules they are good tho

  • damn bro !! :p i love to see you in a jackie chan movie or something lol :p

  • wow !

  • Not really , He would get disqualified. MMA, UFC and all that crap, are overly hyped sports. I know kids today THINK its real, but its not. If a 90 pound normal size person goes up against a 275 pound muscle head, you don't go blow for blow, you gouge his fucking eyes out, or throat or groin. or all three. If he cant see, fights over. That's real life. Wong deals with real life situations.

  • yea he does thats why hes the master haha but i meant just for the money if he fought with mma rules in his own weight class

  • The problem is, take away the rules and MMA fighters become MORE dangerous - not less. They can eye gouge and groin kick as well, obviously. Don't underestimate the importance of the experience of actually fighting, even with gloves and rules, because that makes a massive difference. Just like, an experienced soldier is better than a raw soldier. Gouging people's eyes is ok in theory - but it's not so easy for everyone when it really matters. Theory and 'praxis' are two different thing.

  • That doesn't make any sense familyquan. Are you you just commenting to sound smart or something? Everybody knows people fight the way they train. If a fighter trains for the ring he is less experienced for the street than a fighter who TRAINS for the street. And vice versa. I don't think wardfolio was talking about a regular guy fighting a skilled fighter. But two skilled fighters, one skilled in the ring and one skilled in the street. In most cases, street would win.

  • That's meaningless, but, let's hope you never have to find that out. You think techniques are what count? Not really. All the technique in the world is useless if you're paralysed with fear and shock. MMA fighters train their mind - give it some thought... actual fighting sport places the mind under emotional stress. You might think JKD makes people in to streetfighters, but it doesn't. Fighting makes you a fighter. End of.
