Carmelo outplayed Bryant in that series, that is the point of the argument. What the rest of the Denver team were able to do wasn't enough to win the series, which is my point. The rest of the Lakers is why they won that series. The other Denver players couldn't match them. AI's a great individual player, but he doesn't add much to a team. He couldn't even run the offense, that's why their offense had very little structure during AI's tenure there.
Melo didn't have a fighting chance at a championship until last year when Chauney arrived. AI is a great player, but not a great shooter (as you said) by any stretch of the imagination. His career ppg is fairly low and he's never been a great shooter from distance. He hogged the ball and didn't make anyone better.

Let's not forget that Kobe was paired up with Shaq for the 1st half of his career. If you put either Lebron, D-Wade, or Melo on that team, they'd have 3 titles also. Not discrediting what he's done because I think he's the best in the game right now.
