  • Does anyone know this UK song I´m looking for? It goes something like:

"I'm going late at night and if I was to tell you you'd probably start a fight"

I think the lyrics go something like that but I don't know the artist name.

    Thanks.

  • @electrobussterr You probably already found it, but in case you haven't; Audio Bullys - We Don't Care.

  • @atradec

Yeah I've already found it. But thanks anyways :D

  • 16 people are not up late at night to see the awesome!

  • when you are sitting in front of screen listening to this you start to moving like them

  • someone needs to upload this vid in HD!

  • same as tiesto - i will be here same video technique

  • TOO. MUCH. LOCKIN. AND STOPIN!!!! DX EFFIN AWESOME!!!!!!

  • this is awesome!

  • This video needs a giant thumbs up. These small thumbs don't describe it good enough.

  • I don't know about the U.S. but I saw this video while visiting Europe in 2003.

  • I would so try this at my job after closing if I wasn't so bat at dancing.

  • Loved it :)

  • I wish I could spend my teenage years in a time when all music was like this

  • @ThorirEy

All music wasn't like this, it spawned a million dumb imitations. I was 18 and raving it up at that time though. :p

  • @DavorKai What time is this? 60's? 70's? 80's?

  • @ThorirEy 90's

  • @ThorirEy 2080's, yes.

  • @DavorKai

    2004!

  • @DavorKai this song was made in 2004? It looks old

  • @ThorirEy

it was released in 04 on their album then later as a single. Produced the year prior to that. :p

  • Always a nice track

  • Cool vid, not a fan of the song

  • かっこいい

  • Have you got the "the question "?n

  • Ahh the memories

  • I like the hipster walking down the hall.

  • this needs to be on itunes

  • wwwww

  • This video never ever gets old. It's just so much fun to watch, and the song is great as well.

  • To those who think this is stop motion, it's not. It's a style of effects layering that the production company ne-o was known for using. Live actors are shot over green screen and all "scenery" is 2D stills over a 3D grid, similar to the old process of using mattes.

Ne-O was amazing. Check out the "VW golf GTI" ad featuring a breakdancing Gene Kelley for an example of the work they did.

  • Robbbot Maaan ,Lady Night;)

  • This video should have had more views than this...

  • the popping is really guuuuuuuud

  • this shit wack!!!

  • Really hoping for more Futureshock. They are just brilliant!

  • That opening shot reminds me of the Hipgnosis cover art for I Robot (Alan Parsons Project). Or even a Syd Mead piece.

  • This is the best lockin, poppin anime in the whole world, i can only stand in awe, this is the best of the best, nothing can touch it, i just wish i could get a better quality version of it.

  • lol the stop motion effect is the dance itself. The dance style is called Animation Popping, which is mimics some movements from old stop animation films =)

  • Hmm great vid. I see the stop and reverse special effects but none of the whisper thin (except for the security guard) people seem to be doing any movements which a person in good shape couldn't do. Professional dancers get old too. I can see if you wanted to find people who did the robot.. Japan would be the place...

  • very kooooooooooooooool';-)

i luv this kind of video';-)

  • Just don't make vids like they used to. Well, not as many anyhow. Loved this one.

  • Japanese breakdancers are the best. Japanese people rule in general. ^_^

  • they replaced the heads, its not that difficult to achieve this with a good design team. shoot the dancers in location or green screen them and shoot the face actors with green screen obviously with a list of movements that you need . then just mask and motion track the GS face onto the dancer. alot goes into making this look natural, frame by frame mask adjustment but look at the result..............GREAT VIDEO.

  • need an high def version of this video

  • Ne-o is a badass. End of story.

  • i saw this video randomly and have been searching for the artist ever since, futureshock... someone please give me a song to judge them by, if you had to choose only ONE other than this one. btw i dont think heads replaced, i think all CG backgrounds + maybe speed manipulation

  • i have been looking for this vid for years as well. its too trippy

  • @mfg0308 "on my mind" is a good song, you don't really hear much nowadays

  • bellissimo video e brano 5/5

  • I read the detail on this when the website was still active years ago and yes the heads were replaced and the bodies are fake.

  • What's really cool is, you're not sure what the cop's idea of "action" is, and you'r not sure of his reaction to the dancing cashier. I thought he might shoot him. It was a relief when he started dancing.

  • Wow! Awesome! Did they manipulate their dancing w/ CG, or were they all just really good dancers?

  • コンビニ店員はさすがに気持ち悪くて逃げ出すよ

  • The thing I noticed was at 2:12.

Look in the back window, you should see the camera's reflection. Simple enough, you say, they hid it in the dark rectangle by the cop's hand. The problem is that the camera is TRACKING IN. Makes me think the scene is a composite with the store being CGI. There was some other stuff that had that "otherworldly" CGI quality (the sky scrapers).

  • lol Chinese cops eat doughnuts like American cops

  • I believe that's Japan not China. But yeah.

  • Man, that looks like Lt. Gaeta @ 2:05

  • Stricklyformyminja is right. It's not motion captured though, that would be far too much work when you can simply record 'elsewhere' popping, then record your actors head (slight rotation on it), track elsewhere's head, link actors head to this. Combine that with some time remapping of composited actors head footage to make it look more fluid. Awsome video. It looks artificial, but love it still. Lighting is nicely matched on all composited elements. Probably more going on that it looks like!

  • I don't think it's simply head replacement because look at the security guards' bodies, those are not "dancer's" bodies. I have a simpler solution: human rotoscoping. You film someone dancing at full speed then play that footage back frame by frame on a video monitor superimposed with the non-dancer who uses it to position himself. Tedious, but pretty easy to pull off.

  • I disagree, I'm convinced (and my work colleagues) they are the dancers bodies - the only body that seems to be really different in proportions is one of the bodyguards - that could far easier be done by wearing a "fat suit". Still think it's head replacement and not rotoscoping. David Elsewhere is a skinny guy and could wear any of the clothing in the video whilst filling out for the fatter characters. I don't know what you mean by human rotoscoping though.

  • Human rotoscoping: Shoot a dancer at full speed then capture non-dancer a frame at a time using the frame from the dancer's video to pose the subject. That said I agree now it is probably a head replacement. The motion of the cloth in some shots (particularly the lady's dress) suggests momentum that you wouldn't get in stop motion. Not sure how they got the stop-motion "look" tho. Probably shot at a high frame rate to eliminate the blur. Is this video available on DVD or blu-ray?

  • I'ts not david elsewhere. Its just some popper probably a japanese one. It's obvious the heads have been replaced. The backgrounds look like they have also been altered, and the dancing may have been 'touched up' a bit to look more animated.

  • This song is from 2000 of 2001 i think?

  • i love the grandma and grandpa hehe

  • Personally, I thought that the two security guard guys were the trip down.

  • Classic , glad I found it again thanks : )

  • Awesome.

  • really party crusher

  • coolness!

  • The cashier / cop exchange was my favorite. So epic!

  • This is so me! I love driving around the city late at night and watching the lights with my electro music really loud. :)

  • Same thing they do in tekken or soul calibur...Make sense? They did a great job by the way, coming From a computer Animator. =)

  • the way this video was done is one individual (The Famous Popper ) Stood in front of a motion capture System. He then danced and was recorded. Each individual you see dancing, is actually a computer generated model. look closely at all the faces of the dancers, and the expression. youll notice its CGI. Once the dancers moves were captured, they can be placed on any 3d model, like...the old lady for example.

  • that's a good guess, you're right on most accounts, but what they really did was record the dancer, this Famous Popper you speak of, dancing in the various costumes you see in the video in a motion capture system. someone elses face was then superimposed over his own, that's why the faces look out-of-place.

  • You are absolutely correct. Some people on here speculate that it was all computer animated.

No, it wasn't. It was as you just said. They had someone who could pop, dress up, and then they digitally superimposed the faces.

  • I think its a mixture of both real dancing and stop motion filming. they are taking images and splicing them together to make it look like they are dancing

  • I've a pretty good idea how this might have been done... I could be wrong, I've no idea how the real video editing process works. But thinking how things can be done exclusively digitally these days-- there was probably a technique involved using high frame count cameras, and a program which eliminates every other frame to give that jittery illusion because of a skipped series of frames... just a possibility, I've no idea if that's how it's really done, but it's a good guess.

  • the jittery motion is a product of the dance style, 'pop n lock' more than anything else. Just look for videos of that, or anything with David Elsewhere on Youtube.

  • holy crap this is epic on so many levels....

  • old dude at the train station waz awesom

  • That first dude is awesome. lol!

  • night art ! hypnotic awesome

  • That first dude is awesome. lol!

  • Nothing but pure awesomeness.

  • awesome song :D

  • I LOVE this video. The dancing is so cool.

  • Anyone know how much of the dancing is CGI'd? Or can people REALLY dance like that? (Sorry, I know NADA about dancing, but I love this!)

  • Yes people can dance like that. I think they had the heads super-imposed on the bodies though...

  • no its legit i think

  • Well its probably been touched up to look cooler, especially seeing as how there's already a lot of editing in this video, but all the dancing in this video is perfectly possible.

  • lol

so many people you wouldent expect to be randomly moving

  • awesome vid. keep up the good work!

  • the video is real art

  • This music caresses my soul. What a great music and the clip is so cool. Good combinate of both.

  • from the also-brilliant album. a few years old, this was also released on 12" - perfect and still so fresh.

  • LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! its so perfect

  • Wish this would have been real people rather than CGI.

  • doesn't look like CG to me. although it does look like they hired one dancer and just used him for all the characters.

  • Is that David Elsewhere doing the dancing?

  • no. wikipedia lists his work, and futureshock isn't one of them.
