I launch the boat from the launch ramp usually, I park near the edge of the water and pull the boat out (of the truck) into the water. I have also parked 50 ft or so from the water in a parking lot and walked the boat to the beach with a friend. There is a part of Mission Bay that is open speed area.
@MrOceanfisher this will go faster than the one in the video I think cause the outboard weighs less, has better acceleration, (if it runs good) and Zodiac makes a better inflatable boat than most.
Hello to all :) I have a similar question about the boat and the engine of 10hp. I have inflatable boat with inflatable floor and keel. It is JoyCraft 3.3 metre max. weight with max 4 persons 470 kilgrams + the engine. the max power of the engine they give it of this boat 8hp. but I've read that 10hp + two people it is slow for the sea. What do You think could I a set it a 15hp for this boat ( the maximum is 8hp ) and would have any problems with 15hp.some kind of vibration, unstability etc..
@stjernefodt I take the outboard off the boat in the shallow water, with the shaft in the lowered position, then I walk it over to the tailgate of my Toyota Tundra and lay it on some foam pads or cushions. Then I slide the outboard to the top of the bed and tie it down. The boat can be slid right up onto the bed. I strap it down as well. I do this process all by myself.

how much does the boat weigh? It is only about a ft longer than the one in this video. It will go about 15 to 20 MPH in calm water with one passenger. More ppl in it severely slow it down. I find that it is kinda slow with two ppl in it. Thats why I got the Mercury 25 outboard also.
Hi there it is a short shaft. the long one would be too long for this application. Good luck finding a good outboard. post some vids when you have it set up.
@seanelm well my 8hp mariner 2stroke (twostrokes are faster) on a 3.6 meter inflaterble with the high presure floor can get up to 34mph on my satnav while towing two wakeborders and two people in the boat
cool, whats the name of the launch ramp area, or exit form fwy?

could you put a 9.8hp out board on a 9.4 inflatable boat with air-bottom?
funkyskiller 1 year ago
How do you transport and lay down your motor when you remove it from your dinghy?
stjernefodt 1 year ago
yeah, i want to know that too. 9.8hp nissan is about 80lbs, i just have no idea how to lift and install it.

Yes you can do that. This boat is a air deck 9.7 foot. very similar, the lighter boat is ok but I wish I had a hard floor.

Is that a long or short shaft motor? I just got a 10 footer for xmas, and i' m on the market for a motor now. thanks!
