I am putting a special edition 'The Drowsy Chaperone' Vinyl record that is one of 1,000 pressed recreating the man in chair's experience listing to his treasured record on eBay. The vinyl is in MINT condition, and has no trace of the real Broadway cast or the man in chair but the fictional 1928 cast to recreate the record as accurately as possible. Well, each actor/actress takes a spin on their characters- I find this version interesting. But yes I do agree with you, I prefer Georgia Engel's version better =) I loved her in this show, I was lucky enough to see the original cast and she and Underling (is that right?) were great as were the rest of the amazing cast! =)
