On Luigi's Raceway you don't actually have to get stuck on top of the wall and let Lakitu pick you up - it's possible to just land on the other side of the wall safely. But even if you do get picked up, the cheat saves a LOT of time. And the Toad's Turnpike cheat is even better. It's 100% impossible to beat somebody who uses the cheat if you do not use the cheat. Just try it out and see for yourself.

I watched all of the vids, the short cuts were really cool, I didn't see any difference in Toad's Turnpike's shortcut. Also, I was wondering, wouldn't it be harder to do the shortcuts when your racing against other racers? And you don't get 3 mushrooms at the beginning of a race.

The Toad's turnpike shortcut basically makes it so you miss half of the course. Notice how the course looks like two loops, well you skip one of those loops.

For most of these shortcuts mushrooms aren't needed. There are a couple that require aid from mushrooms or stars, e.g. Mario Raceway, Yoshi Valley (the skip-a-lap trick), and Royal Raceway (when you skip from the beginning of the course to the ramp). Most other tricks are entirely possible to perform without mushrooms, although they can help in some cases (e.g. Choco Mountain, if you fail the first try).

Try blowing on the bottom of the cartrage and in the console where the game goes. There's just dust in those areas. It should work fine.

Actually, it would be better if you take a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol and rub the contact pins in the cartridge. It works much more efficient and will last longer.

just a thing, the peach level, you can make that one with one jump, without water. As mentionned in the first comment on the first vid, it rarely happens. Works quite well with extra star speed I think

All levels have a base level of water (ever played farcry? same thing.. also in ecco the dolphin).

Where no floor is, water will come.. may be a backup if there is a clipping bug (as used in most of the gliches)

YEAH! You know what would have been great? If you actually took the time to have make the shortcuts work,and showed the working shortcuts in the video (Um what im saying is how do we know they actaully work, for all we know your sending us on a wildgoose chase).
