But, Senator Long was the wisest and bravest of all the politicians of his era. None of them cared for the poor. Huey Long was a folk hero who was Robin Hood, Mother Teresa, and Satan himself all rolled into one. He modernized his state like no other governor before or since. In that sense, he was probably one of the greatest governors who ever lived in ANY state. Mind you, he didn't mind lining his own pockets in the process.

Huey Long was the best Governor this state ever had.Huey fought for equality, eliminated the poll tax that gave the poor the chance to vote.He was able to get the state to pay for school books so that all children could go to school and learn.Before that if you could not afford books you could not attend school.He build our State capital, Tiger Stadium, and much of the LSU Campus.
